Here is something to think about: It is a transcript taken from another site I visit regularly.
Transcribed From Trinity Broadcasting Networks Praise The Lord Show.
Benny Hinn: "Adam was a superbeing when God created Him. I don't know whether people even know this, but he was the first superman that ever lived. (Jan Crouch is heard laughing on the set.) First of all, the Scriptures declare clearly that he had dominion over the fowls of the air, the fish of the sea, which means he used to fly."
Jan Crouch: "Wow!"
Benny Hinn: "Of course, how can you have dominion over the birds and not be able to do what they do?"
Jan Crouch: "Whoa, I mean, wait a minute. Benny, wait a minute."
Benny Hinn: "I'll prove it to you. The word 'dominion' in the Hebrew clearly declares that, if you have dominion over a subject, you can do everything that subject does. In other words, that subject, if it does something that you cannot do, you don't have dominion over it. I'll prove it further. Adam not only flew, he flew to space. He used to be...He,He,He,He,He,He... with one thought He'd be on the moon."
Benny Hinn may have uttered this complete nonsense, content with the knowledge that his listeners did not even know their Bibles, not to mention know how to do a word study using Strongs and other study resources. Let us review Strong's Concordance on the Hebrew meaning of the word, 'dominion', found in Genesis 1:26.
Dominion -- Strong's Number 7287 -- Transliteration: radah -- Phonetic Pronunciation: raw-daw'
Meaning: to rule, have dominion, dominate, tread down -- 1a) (Qal) to have dominion, rule, subjugate -- 1b) (Hiphil) to cause to dominate -- 2) to scrape out as honey out of a hive --2a) (Qal) to scrape, scrape out
The ways in which this word is used in the Bible: rule 13 -- dominion 9 -- take 2 -- prevaileth 1 -- reign 1 -- ruler 1 -- [Total Count: 27]
Now, let us turn to the Key Word Hebrew/Greek Study Bible. Listen to what they say about the meaning of "dominion -- radah: To tread down as a winepress, with the feet; to subdue, subjugate, to crumble, oppress, to walk on a person, to rule, cause to rule, to prevail against, to take possession of honey from a hive, to scrape out. [Page 1659]
Can you see any definition of "radah" that suggests that the person exercising the control over the birds "can do everything that subject does"? What sheer nonsense Benny Hinn is shoveling out to his gullible crowd of followers! He pretends to know Hebrew just because he claims to be Jewish. That is about as logical as a person claiming to speak German just because he is of German descent.
Adam Was A Reproduction of God Himself?
Copeland: "God's reason for creating Adam was His desire to reproduce Himself and in the Garden of Eden, He did that, He was not a little like God, He was not almost like God, he was subordinate to God, even. And Adam was as much like God as you can get ... And I want you to know something. Adam in the Garden of Eden was Cod manifested In the flesh."
Once again, this "new revelation" is sheer nonsense, and totally unbiblical! God simply said, "Let us make man in our image..." [Genesis 1:26] This word, "image" is "tselem", which literally means likeness, resemblance, illusion, a phantom, nothingness." {Key Study Bible, Hebrew/Greek, p. 1653]
In other words, God made man as a faint phantom of His true Self. While God granted unto man the intellectual ability to know right from wrong and to solve problems, He never made man exactly like He was; man was never, ever a "little god", and never, ever a "reproduction" of God.
