You really need to understand that to be a follower of Christ is NOT based on Logic, but LOVE, the Love we show to others , especially those in need, it is a faith that demands self denial and sacrifice in the name of that Love and encompasses ALL, and in Matthew 5 45-48 Christ re-iterates that point by saying" If you love them which love you, what reward have you, do not even the Publicans the same. And if you salute your Brethren only, what do you more than others, do not even the Publicans so. Be you therefore perfect, as your Father in heaven is perfect".
Imagine you are a leader in a large group. You have almost the same problems as America on a smaller scale yet some "needy person or small group" shows up for help.
Your people will suffer and problems get worse if you help them. A parent's FIRST duty after themselves and spouse is to prepare their children for life without them. That leader MUST put his group before any other.

No, Justice is not "Left to the Courts", it is left to ALL of us to "Act Justly, to Love Mercy and to walk Humbly with our God, Micah 6:8, for what is Christs call "To treat others as we would want to be treated" nothing less than the Basis of Justice, it is Justice, together with Love and compassion that form the Trinity of our Morality based on the firm rock of our faith, if you leave Justice to a corrupt and politically influenced institution such as the "Courts" then you are giving your morality to an instrument of the Devil. The "Courts" have been used throughout human history to implement and re-enforce some of the worst excesses of human Society, and remember, it was the "Courts", that condemned Christ to Torture and Death

How does that justify retaliation?." This is guidance of the courts with regards to small grievances, NOT war and invasion.
You do know the context in which Christ made these teachings, as part of the Sermon on the Mount, not a legal treatise on how the Courts should behave but a message for his followers to adhere to, for as he says at the end in Matthew 7:24 "Whoever hears these sayings and does them, i liken him to a man that builds his house upon a rock..... and the floods came and it fell not,for it was founded upon a rock". The teachings in The Sermon on the mount are for ALL his followers, you really need to understand that and not let your ideology twist and pervert Christs meaning.
There are many good, just wars in the bible commanded by God. God supports just wars and self defence.

When he says " those that live by the sword will die by the sword", when he says " Blessed are the Peacemakers, for they shall be called the Children of God", what does that mean to you, does that mean "Righteous wars", does that mean "Killing the Ungodly", does that mean "Wiping out a whole civilisation", because if it does then i think youre letting your pre- conceived ideas of what should be override Christs teachings of what is the path for those that profess to follow him, yes its a "Hard and narrow path, and few there are that find it", but recognising that path is the first step to travelling on it.
