Christ's Finished Atonement or Christ's Failure Atonement

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit (John 19:30).

He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the whole world (1 John 2:2.

Christ's finished atonement is for the whole world, and the whole world includes exclusively the persons whom the Christ chooses as recipients for Christ's atonement.

The Christ of us Christians says “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes atonement).

Christ's atonement is finished and complete and always succeeds as per the Christ saying “It is finished!"!

Christ's teaching is that atonement makes a person "at one" with God by God's grace for God's glory (John 17)!

On the contrary, Free-willian Philosophy results in Christ's failure atonement.

Christ's failure atonement is for the whole world, and the whole world includes everyone everywhere in all time because a person free-will chooses Christ.

Free-willians believe that Christ's atonement is unfinished in that (1) a person chooses Christ in order to allow Christ's atonement to apply to the person and (2) Christ's atonement applies to everyone everywhere in all time and (3) Christ doesn't know who will choose Christ; therefore, every person who chooses Christ results in that person adding to the Body of Christ without Christ's choice/consent, so Christ's atonement is unfinished despite Christ saying “It is finished!".

Yet, free-willians also believe the whole world includes everyone everywhere in all time which means this example representing fleshly people, dead in sin, ungodly multitude, unbelievers applies to this examination of Free-willian Philosophy:
  • if Tom of the world chooses to believe in Christ before he dies, then God must profit Tom with eternal life being saved from the wrath of God.
  • if Nancy of the world chooses to believe not in Christ right until her dying thoughts, then God must punish Nancy with eternal damnation being under the wrath of God.
  • The conclusion: Christ's atonement succeeded in saving Tom of the world, and Christ's atonement failed in saving Nancy of the world.
So, free-willians believe in Christ's failure atonement.

God Almighty is all mighty, so Almighty God's atonement never fails; in contrast, free-willian's people like Nancy result in free-willians believing that God is weak because Christ's atonement failed to atone for Nancy.

We Christians know that Christ's atonement always succeeds!

So you believe Christ died to force people to accept Him? To take away free will?..

The price of sin is death that is why Christ was crucified not to take away free will n the right to choose.. so are you claiming that a person that was torturing n raping that 2 week old baby who then blew his brains who had no regard for the pain he or she caused is all good now ? N if I don't agree I'm belittling God grace .

Simply amazing..

The fruits that Christianity is producing is starting to really make my stomach nauseous n I pity those under the spell of them synagogues they attend..

Heb 4:3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said, "AS I SWORE IN MY WRATH, THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST," although His works were finished from the foundation of the world.
Heb 4:4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: "AND GOD RESTED ON THE SEVENTH DAY FROM ALL HIS WORKS";
Heb 4:5 and again in this passage, "THEY SHALL NOT ENTER MY REST."
Heb 4:6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience,

Matt 7:13 "Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
Matt 7:14 "For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

Luke 13:23 And someone said to Him, "Lord, are there just a few who are being saved?" And He said to them,
Luke 13:24 "Strive to enter through the narrow door; for many, I tell you, will seek to enter and will not be able.

Nobody "accepts" (chooses) Almighty God. There is no such thing as free-will "to take away".

My loving Lord Jesus Christ declares “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation)!

N where does it say I force you to choose me? If there is no free will then how did the angels ever disobey how did man ever disobey? If we have no free will then why did the Lord need to be sacrificed?

I guess I was forced to steal lie n murder that was not my free will therefore I shouldn't be held accountable therefore I need no saviour.. according to you correct?

Silly Twistie, you ignored in the post to which you replied where Savior Jesus says “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation)!

Largely, I use free will to mean man choosing toward God, emphatically Lord Jesus Christ.

I know He chooses us but we also have free will if we didn't we wouldn't need a saviour can't have it both ways..
He new before he formed us if we would choose Him..
He don't force no one to choose Him it's free will He loves all His creatures He wishes not to loose one but He will not force one to go to Him..

With that said either I was forced to murder or I did it in my own free will..

Twistie, you are tying yourself up. No one has a free-will to choose Jesus because He says “you did not choose Me, but I chose you” (John 15:16) and “I chose you out of the world” (John 15:19, includes salvation), so there is no such thing as free-will.

Amen, correct! Christianity 101

and the whole world includes exclusively the persons whom the Christ chooses as recipients for Christ's atonement.

Oh my that went wrong quick. No no no, incorrect, satanism 101

Try and understand that you are pushing a belief that God is partial. Partiality is pure evil and God is not evil.

Job 34:12 It should be unthinkable that God do what is evil.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit (John 19:30).

We Christians know that Christ's atonement always succeeds!
As Jesus hung on the cross, He said, “It is finished” (John 19:30). His work of atonement is complete, once for all (Hebrews 10:10–14). Scripture says He is “the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world” (1 John 2:2). “Whole world” means exactly that. Christ’s sacrifice is sufficient for all, but efficacious only for those who believe.

God’s Word is very clear: “Whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). If any will reject Him, it is not Christ’s inability, but unbelief that condemns them (John 3:18). God is not weak when a sinner perishes, they perish because they embrace the lie (2 Thessalonians 2:10).

Christ’s atonement is finished, perfect, and cannot fail. Whoever calls on Him will be saved (Romans 10:13). That is the simple teaching of Scripture.

Ya he chose us yet we have free will are you claiming I was forced to hold up that travel agency? I was forced to send in a man to shatter her jaw to take the cash? I was forced to rob the seven eleven? I was forced to hold up the gas station? I was forced to kill? I didn't choose not of it? I was made to do it??

  • if Tom of the world chooses to believe in Christ before he dies, then God must profit Tom with eternal life being saved from the wrath of God.

God is the judge, not you or I. Only God can judge the heart and mind at depths of intent.

Jer 17:9-10 The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? “I the LORD search the heart and examine the mind, to reward each person according to their conduct, according to what their deeds deserve.”

So, yes, if God says someone deserves to be gifted with salvation, given saving faith to believe Jesus is Lord and was raised from the dead Rom 10:9, then you and I can rest easy knowing that that person will be a good neighbor in heaven for all eternity.

Someone like you however. Someone who misrepresents God as partial and pure evil. Someone who thinks they are more special and important than others. I would never ever want to be your neighbor. Or serve a god that is. You in the wrong religion. You should be in satanism. God is not partial. There are seventeen scriptures that speak directly to that. Acts 10:34 perhaps the most popular.

  • if Nancy of the world chooses to believe not in Christ right until her dying thoughts, then God must punish Nancy with eternal damnation being under the wrath of God.

God separates repentant sinner from unrepentant sinner. Your example of Nancy committing venial sins is why only God can judge if someone deserves hell or heaven. Paul is clear that the best we can grasp is continuing unrepentant in sin. Whether venial or mortal 1 Cor 6:9-12.

  • The conclusion: Christ's atonement succeeded in saving Tom of the world, and Christ's atonement failed in saving Nancy of the world.

Christs atonement is available to both. To link God's impartiality and His sacrifice on the cross with the word 'failure' is very brazen of you.

------------------

Misrepresenting God and scripture is false teaching and a wise person knows to fear God and FLEE from this.

Just meditate on how graphic God is with His warning to false teachers in Matt 18:6

“If anyone causes one of these little ones those who believe in me to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.''

Job 34:12 It should be unthinkable that God do what is evil.

Whoa, KingJ, your free-willian philosophy makes God partial to man.

I believe God is the good impartial Judge. Almighty God metes out justice - "those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment" (John 5:29).

God's choice is impartial and just for God knows beforehand who among men are justified according to God (Romans 8:28-30), after all, Almighty God is the Righteous Judge (Psalm 7:11 who loves justice (Isaiah 61:8)!

Your own words call this Truth (John 14:6) about Almighty God your "satanism 101". You believe God is partial to man.

Believe the Word of God!

I believe you have absolutely no clue as to what the definition of partial and impartial is.

Ok, I am going to ask you a simple question. Try and show you how absolutely profoundly idiotic your argument is.

Let's say.....YOU are the one NOT chosen for heaven. YOU find YOURSELF in ETERNAL HELL....will you

A. be upset with God?
B. Continue teaching this crap that God is partial and somehow 'good' at the same time?

Yes or No answers to A and B please.

Hi bdavidc,

Lord Jesus Christ's words are wonderful, “This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent” (John 6:29). We Christians know that our very belief in Christ is a blessed work of God!

Your writing there puts people like Nancy in the “Whole world” thus you convey that Christ atoned for people like Nancy, so you believe this example representing fleshly people, dead in sin, ungodly multitude, unbelievers applies to this examination of Free-willian Philosophy:
  • if Tom of the world chooses to believe in Christ before he dies, then God must profit Tom with eternal life being saved from the wrath of God.

So, free-willians believe in Christ's failure atonement.

As the original post indicates, when Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, “It is finished!” Then he bowed his head and gave up his spirit (John 19:30), so We Christians know that Christ's atonement always succeeds!

Hello again Twistie,

You have done a lot of evil things according to your writing, Twistie.

The Apostle Paul wrote:
18 He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires.
19 You will say to me then, “Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?” 20 On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, “Why did you make me like this,” will it? 21Or does not the Potter have a right over the clay, to make from the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for common use? 22 What if God, although willing to demonstrate His wrath and to make His power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction? 23 And He did so to make known the riches of His glory upon vessels of mercy, which He prepared beforehand for glory
So, faithful, glorious, and graceful Lord and God Jesus Christ fills us vessels of mercy with God's works of mercy which God prepared beforehand for glory!

Paul declares God's Sovereign control of man with "He has mercy on whom He desires, and He hardens whom He desires" (Romans 9:18).

Immediately after writing that God is in control, Paul continued with "You will say to me then, 'Why does He still find fault? For who resists His will?'" (Romans 9:19) - herein resides man wrongly assigning man's accountability for sin to God - the fault question similar to your questions you asked again and again in your posts, Twistie.

Romans 9:18 segues right into Romans 9:19-23.

Bringing these together:

Paul conveyed "God is in control" (Romans 9:18) then the "you" defiantly mocks God's control with "Why does He still find fault I know He chooses us but we also have free will? For free-will resists His will?" (proof post #8).

The "you" in Romans 9:19-20 is the person who rejects God by way of rejecting God's exclusive control of man's salvation; in other words, the "you" is the person that claims man has a free will.

Do not forget that it is written that no purpose of God's can be thwarted (Job 42:2), so scripture reveals that man cannot resist God's will, and Paul knows scripture.

Notice the "you" questioning why God still finds fault. Paul conveys that the "you" asks the fault question in a mocking manner, and the subsequent question about God's will continues with the "you" mocking God who is entirely in control of man's salvation according to Paul (Ephesians 2:8-10 for example).

The "you" is certainly mocking because immediately after the question about God's will, Paul wrote:
On the contrary, who are you, O man, who answers back to God? The thing molded will not say to the molder, "Why did you make me like this," will it? (Romans 9:20)

See the "On the contrary" which is indicative that the following statement of Paul refutes the mocking questions of the "you" about the fault question and the question about God's will (in Romans 9:19).

Paul continues immediately after "On the contrary" in Romans 9:20 showing that the thing molded cannot resist the will of the Molder.

The thing molded represents the "you".

The Molder represents God.

IN TRUTH, PAUL CONVEYS THAT MAN CANNOT RESIST GOD'S WILL (ROMANS 9:19-20)!

Behold the parallel of the defiant "you" as adversary against God (in Romans 9:19-20) to free-willians based upon the content of free-willian philosophical writings - look at your post, Twistie. No Holy Scripture states man was imparted a free-will, so you are adding to Holy Scripture.

My brother Paul wrote "it does not depend on the man who wills or the man who runs, but on God who has mercy" (Romans 9:16).

Believe in the Holy Sovereign God!

Kermos

Your playing word games it seems we are talking about free will let's not do the word dance please..

Either I did do it upon my own free will or I was forced to because I don't have free will which is it..

This first must be cleared up before we can move further in this convo..

Ohhhh KingJ,

Your writing of "Someone like you however. Someone who misrepresents God as partial and pure evil" demonstrates exactly who you are because my Lord Jesus has given me the Living God's Holy Spirit!

I stopped reading your post upon finding that you slander (blaspheme) the Holy Spirit who controls me! The Word of God declares "Therefore I say to you, any sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven people, but blasphemy against the Spirit shall not be forgiven. Whoever speaks a word against the Son of Man, it shall be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come" (Matthew 12:31-32).

Saved by Lord Jesus,
Kermos
