There was no saving faith at the time of Jesus.
Jesus said otherwise:
And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
- Matthew 9:2 KJV
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
- Matthew 9:22 KJV
When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
- Mark 2:5 KJV
(Need I quote more?)
There was no Holy Spirit.
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:
- Matthew 3:11 KJV
And Jesus, when he was baptized, went up straightway out of the water: and, lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him:
- Matthew 3:16 KJV
And it came to pass in those days, that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him:
- Mark 1:9-10 KJV
And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,
- Luke 4:1 KJV
(There definitely was a Holy Spirit.)
IE There were no Christians.
Now the names of the twelve apostles are these; The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartholomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphaeus, and Lebbaeus, whose surname was Thaddaeus; Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him.
- Matthew 10:2-4 KJV
I know you're playing semantic games here, but weren't the Twelve saved believers? Did these not believe in Christ?
Coming from the guy that rejects Luke 16 and what Jesus said on the cross to the thief.
I don't reject Luke 16, I'm just honest and truthful about Luke present a spiritual story lesson. Where as YOU reject Matthew and Mark.
The thieves also, which were crucified with him, cast the same in his teeth.
- Matthew 27:44 KJV
Let Christ the King of Israel descend now from the cross, that we may see and believe. And they that were crucified with him reviled him.
- Mark 15:32 KJV
