The Tribulation Isn’t What You Think — and Jesus Never Taught a Rapture Escape Plan

Scripture mostly talks about “tribulation” (thlipsis) as something believers experience. But Jesus does describe a final period of unparalleled distress — and He tells us exactly how it ends.

The problem? Modern churches have been fed Scofield’s fan fiction, not Christ’s words.

So let’s walk through what the Bible actually says.

1. Tribulation is for believers — not just “the left behind.”

“In the world you will have tribulation (θλῖψιν) — but take heart, I have overcome the world.”

— John 16:33

“We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.”
— Acts 14:22

Tribulation isn't some Jewish horror flick after the Church "vanishes" — it's the furnace believers have always gone through. It’s been happening since Acts — and it will culminate right before Christ returns.

2. Jesus does mention a great tribulation — but the righteous are still there.

“Then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world... and except those days be shortened, no flesh would be saved.”
— Matthew 24:21–22

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days… He shall send His angels… and gather His elect.” — Matthew 24:29–31

So when does Jesus gather His people? AFTER the tribulation — not before.
No secret escape. No early flight. No Kirk Cameron 'Left Behind' Hollywood nonsense.
Left behind” isn’t a threat — it’s a promise. Just ask Noah.

3. “But what about being taken like in Noah’s day?”

People say this like it’s the reward — but Jesus says it’s the judgment.

“As it was in the days of Noah… they were eating and drinking… until the flood came and took them all away.
So shall it be when the Son of Man returns.
— Matthew 24:37–39
(Also Luke 17:26–30)

Look again — who gets taken in Noah’s day?
Not Noah. Not the righteous.
It’s the wicked who are swept away in judgment.

And Jesus says it’ll be just like that again.

The ones “taken” are the ones judged.
The ones “left” are the ones preserved.
Left behind? That’s the blessing. Just like Noah, just like Lot.

That means modern Rapture theology has Christians begging to be swept away in judgment — while calling it their “blessed hope.” That’s not faith. That’s deception — straight from the Pit. They’re under a veil… and cheering for their own destruction as the architects of this deception laugh from the shadows of Hell — watching the Church pray for its own judgment, and call it salvation.

4. Revelation confirms: the saints go through it.

“I saw the souls of those who were beheaded for their witness to Jesus… and they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.”
— Revelation 20:4

Who are these saints?
Not “tribulation extras.”
They’re the faithful Church — those who endure.
There is ONE resurrection. (John 5:28–29, Daniel 12:2)

5. Daniel backs it up:

“There shall be a time of trouble such as never was… but at that time your people shall be delivered — everyone written in the Book.”

— Daniel 12:1–2

“Many shall be purified and made white and tried.”
— Daniel 12:10

Not beamed uppurified, tried, delivered.
Through fire, not around it.

6. There’s no escape hatch. But there is endurance — and glory.

“Here is the endurance of the saints… those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.”

— Revelation 14:12

But he who endures to the end will be saved.” — Matthew 24:13

The Satanic Lie: “The Tribulation” is a Jewish-only horror story.
This was invented by John Nelson Darby in the 1800s and stapled into your Bible by Scofield.
They taught the Church is removed before things get rough, and the Jews get one more shot during a special 7-year tribulation.

There’s only one problem:
That’s not what Jesus taught.

Final Truth:

There is a final period of tribulation — a real, global time of distress before Christ returns. But Jesus was clear:

The righteous aren’t removed beforehand — they’re refined.

The wicked are “taken,” not the saints.

The elect are gathered after the tribulation.

There is one resurrection — at Christ’s visible return.

And every believer who endures will shine like the sun in the Kingdom of their Father (Matthew 13:43).

Summary:

"The tribulation" is real — not just future, but already unfolding. It intensifies before Christ returns. But believers go through it — not around it.

The “rapture” happens after the tribulation (Matt 24:29–31).

The ones “taken” in Noah’s day were the wicked — not the saved.
Jesus says it will be the same way again when He returns.

The ones ‘taken’ are the damned. The Rapture, as the misled modern churches teach it, is actually a death sentence disguised as deliverance.

The righteous are left — sealed, rescued, preserved, just like Noah.

So when modern Christians start begging to be “taken”…
they’re literally praying to be swept away in judgment.
That’s not the blessed hope.
That’s spiritual suicide — with Scofield footnotes.

Scofield’s fantasy isn’t in the Bible.

Endure like Noah. Obey like Lot. Shine like the saints.

No one is raptured before it.
The righteous are gathered after (Matt 24:29–31).

Saints will suffer, resist the Beast, and be resurrected to reign with Christ. (Rev 20:4)

The whole “pre-trib rapture” thing? Invented in the 1800s. Not Bible. Not Jesus. Not apostolic.

If anyone tells you we’ll be “raptured out” before things get hard, just ask:
“Where’s the verse that says that?”
(Spoiler: there isn’t one.)

The Cross wasn’t an escape plan — it was a war path.
Jesus doesn’t rapture cowards.
He refines warriors.

Not one apostle taught a pre-tribulation rapture.
Not one early Church father believed Christians would disappear before the time of trial.

There is zero historical record of any secret escape doctrine in the first 1800 years of Christianity.

Paul didn’t teach it.
Peter didn’t teach it.
John — the one who saw Revelation — didn’t teach it.

Irenaeus didn’t preach it.
Polycarp didn’t preach it.
Ignatius didn’t preach it.

Jesus didn’t teach it.

So where did it come from?

John Nelson Darby, 1830s.
Scofield Bible, 1909.
Then Hollywood — and Satan’s global elite minions — ran with it.
They sold Christians a false escape hatch — and called it “the Blessed Hope.”

The real Church never believed in a “left behind” evacuation plan.
That idea didn’t come from the Bible.

So ask yourself:
If the apostles didn’t preach it…
If the early Church never taught it…
If Jesus never mentioned it…

Then who did?

Because deception this deep doesn’t come from ignorance — it comes from below.

It’s so twisted, so dark, so psychotic,
it could only come from the pit itself.

Like an evil man sweetly coaxing a group of children
to dance into a barn full of starving lions —
and calling it “blessed hope".

What they’ve done to the Church since 1909 is so twisted,
so diabolical,
it couldn’t have come from man.

This deception bears the fingerprints of the Dragon himself.
Only the enemy of Christ could orchestrate something so brilliant,
so blasphemous —
and sell it as hope.

(Context: current events.) I agree. Yeah, there will be "raptures" as Maui and Greater Appalachia suffered and every Great City Fire in recent world history. The method seems important to the worldly. But... The salvation of many, many souls is so essential to Christ that the [let's say] "technocracy" of Satan (Rev 2:9) is outright muting and murdering Christians everywhere that they think they can. It is terrible, tragic, and also pathetic, really. I'd like to thank the bad guys for dropping the masks, but I only thank God Almighty for allowing us to know the difference.

Be not like Judas Iscariot, but more like Saul of Tarsus, and even then, do as Christ would have you.

Praise Jesus Christ our Lord and Redeemer!

I would say the best verse that is used for the rapture (pre trib) is

Revelation 3:10

Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.

one of the best verse to refute the pre trib rapture is.

John 17:15

I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.

Gods wrath, God has always been able to protect his people in place when he pours out his wrath, just look at the passover, perfect example.
but the whole tribulation is not about Gods wrath, IMO for it says he give satan permission to wage war on the saints and kill them, sounds like satan's wrath is used to refine us. We all have to die, is not dying for God the best possible way!

Revelation 13:7

Also it was allowed to make war on the saints and to conquer them. And authority was given it over every tribe and people and language and (church still there after the tribulation started)

Remember the age of grace is until Jesus returns, and maybe longer, we all need grace, grace does not end at the tribulation, people are not saved another way in the tribulation its all Jesus.

I respect the honesty in your answer.

You admit Revelation 13:7 shows the Church is still present during the tribulation.
You recognize that Satan’s wrath is what we endure — not God’s.
You acknowledge that salvation has always been by grace through Christ — even during the time of trial.

So let’s finish the job and remove the last Scofield cobweb.

Revelation 3:10 doesn’t prove a pre-trib rapture — it refutes it.

“Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial…”

Let’s break that down.
The Greek word for “keep” is τηρέω (tēreō) — which means preserve, guard, or protect.
It does not mean “remove” or “rapture.”

It’s the same word Jesus uses in John 17:15:
“I do not ask that You take them out of the world, but that You keep (tēreō) them from the evil one.”

Same word. Same meaning.
Jesus prays not for removal — but protection within the fire.

God doesn’t pull His people out — He seals them through.

Just like Noah wasn’t raptured — he was sealed in.
Just like Israel didn’t skip Egypt — they were covered by the blood.

That’s not escape. That’s endurance. That’s covenant faithfulness.

And you said it best yourself:
“We all have to die — is not dying for God the best possible way?”

Amen.

Because the real Church doesn’t run from tribulation — it’s refined by it.

The rapture isn't a panic button.
It's the final gathering after the storm — not before (Matthew 24:29–31).

The true Blessed Hope isn’t evacuation. It’s resurrection.
That’s the Gospel Jesus preached. That’s the Gospel the apostles died for.
And that’s the Gospel that still stands — even when the Beast rises.

So let's stop arguing for an escape pod when Jesus is building an ark.

Stand. Endure. Overcome.

Because those are the ones who will reign. (Revelation 20:4)

That reminds me that I used to be preoccupied with what the actual calendar date is in relation to the Thousand-Year Reign... But the stars are still up there clocking Seasons and so forth according to God's good will and pleasure. I'm not worried about any signs, I'm more concerned with being with Jesus Christ all my days, and reminding everyone else around me.

How anyone can side with the "synagogue" of Satan is beyond me. I ain't perfect but I need Christ more - we all do.

I just thought of something. It has to do with all those "Left Behind" fears. And yes, please quote The Word chapter and verse to me and any readers if you are inspired so. But the lack of a "left behind due to rapture event" only proves God's mercy like every trial every child of God has gone through beyond what is recorded in the Holy Bible. You know, Great Flood, lion's dens, fire pits, generational slavery, drone strikes and other technological junk. The rapture is not mentioned (I know, neither is "Pope", but unicorns are; and sure I digress - still on point), but the rapture is not needed to justify the Power of Christ.

It does make for an amusing money-making parable, I suppose. But the Muses are still devils in shiny costume. Fear sells to cowards. Chill out, I am no Samson nor Gideon, but I won't bow to anti-Christs.

God says "Be not afraid."

If the rapture does not happen until the end of the "tribulation" period and when Jesus comes back in flaming fire with all of his saints, to wipe out all those who are wicked and know not God, then who will go populate the Earth in the Millennium when everyone with a natural body will be gone?

Who are the twenty-four elders in Revelation who see with their own eyes Jesus taking the scroll with the seven seals from his Father's hand?

If the rapture does not happen until the end of the "tribulation" period and when Jesus comes back in flaming fire with all of his saints, to wipe out all those who are wicked and know not God, then who will go populate the Earth in the Millennium when everyone with a natural body will be gone?

Why do you think there won't be anyone with natural bodies after the millennial reign?

Rev 20:7 When the thousand years are completed, Satan will be released from his prison,
Rev 20:8 and will come out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore.
Rev 20:9 And they came up on the [d]broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the [e]saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter by the gates into the city.
Rev 22:15 Outside are the dogs and the sorcerers and the immoral persons and the murderers and the idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices lying.

Why do you think there won't be anyone with natural bodies after the millennial reign?
In Jesus' second coming, he comes to destroy all the wicked who do not know him or obey the Gospel.

2Th 1:6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you,
2Th 1:7 and to give you who are troubled rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
2Th 1:8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Th 1:9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

If all the wicked are destroyed and the believing persons who survives the tribulation are raptured, then there will be no people left to populate the Millennium with natural bodies.

If the rapture does not happen until the end of the "tribulation" period and when Jesus comes back in flaming fire with all of his saints, to wipe out all those who are wicked and know not God, then who will go populate the Earth in the Millennium when everyone with a natural body will be gone?

Curtis, you’re asking a great question — but it only seems like a problem if you’re reading Revelation through a Scofield lens.

Let’s break the spell.

First: Nowhere in scripture does it say the righteous get raptured away before Christ returns.

In fact, it says the exact opposite:
“Immediately after the tribulation… He will send His angels… and gather His elect.”
— Matthew 24:29–31

Jesus returns after the tribulation — not before it. There is no pre-trib evacuation. None of the apostles preached it. The early Church didn’t believe it. The Bible doesn’t teach it. Jesus never said it.

Second: There are survivors.

Your confusion assumes two things that scripture doesn’t say:

1. That every wicked person dies when Jesus returns.

2. That every believer is instantly glorified and taken to Heaven.

Both assumptions are wrong.

Look closer:
“He shall strike the earth with the rod of His mouth,
And with the breath of His lips He shall slay the wicked.”
— Isaiah 11:4

It doesn’t say all the wicked die. It says He judges them. Many perish — but scripture never says every single human is gone. In fact, there are still nations around during the Millennium:

“The nations… shall go up from year to year to worship the King.”
— Zechariah 14:16

How do you have nations if literally everyone either died or got glorified? You don’t. The text refutes your assumption.

Third: The Bible literally says people with natural bodies will repopulate the earth.

During the Millennium:

People still live, age, and die. (Isaiah 65:20)

They build houses, plant vineyards, and bear children. (Isaiah 65:21–23)

There are survivors from the nations. (Isaiah 66:19–20)

None of that makes sense if every human left gets “raptured.” It only makes sense if:

Some believers survive in natural bodies
Christ rules from Jerusalem
The wicked are judged — but not all annihilated instantly
The world enters a real 1,000-year era of peace, restoration, and justice under Jesus

Final Truth:
There’s no problem populating the Millennium — unless you force Scofield’s Hollywood doctrine onto the text.

Here’s what the Bible actually teaches:

Christ returns once — visibly, in glory (Rev 19:11–16)
He gathers His elect after the tribulation (Matt 24:31)
Some people survive — and enter the Millennium in natural bodies (Zech. 14:16, Isa. 65:20)
Those faithful believers become the remnant that repopulates the earth under Christ’s rule
The resurrected saints (Rev 20:4) reign with Him over those natural nations

No Scofield fantasy required.

"If the righteous get taken, and the wicked get left, who populates the Millennium?"

Easy.

The ones who are left.

Just like Noah.
Just like Lot.
Just like Jesus said.

“The one who endures to the end will be saved.” — Matt 24:13
Not raptured. Endured.

Scofield’s version? Fiction.

Jesus’s version? Victory through endurance.

In fact, it says the exact opposite:
“Immediately after the tribulation… He will send His angels… and gather His elect.”
— Matthew 24:29–31
This has nothing to do with the rapture, but about the "secound" coming of Jesus after the great tribulation in which Jesus comes with firey vengence upon all who do not know God or obey the Gospel.

This describes Jesus' second coming to this Earth....

when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,
2Th 1:8 in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Th 1:9 These shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord and from the glory of His power,

Mat 24:29 "Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.
Mat 24:30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
Mat 24:31 And He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. where every sees him coming.

In the rapture, nobody of this world will see it coming, unlike the second coming, where everybody sees it.

In the rapture, Jesus comes for his Church. in his second coming, Jesus comes with his Church to execute justice.

1Th 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.
1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
1Th 4:15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.
1Th 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first.
1Th 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord.
1Th 4:18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

First: Nowhere in scripture does it say the righteous get raptured away before Christ returns.
The rapture of the Church is not Jesus coming back to the earth, it is Jesus coming in the clouds in the air to get his Church, not the earth.
Jesus only comes to the earth in his second coming.

1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The rapture of the Church is not Jesus coming back to the earth, it is Jesus coming in the clouds in the air to get his Church, not the earth.
I always wondered how being in the clouds was not being on part of earth it. It is in the atmosphere, for when we go on a plane ride we are still in Earth's atmosphere,, yet when we go to space we are outside the atmosphere no longer on earth, just the way I see.

I always wondered how being in the clouds was not being on part of earth it. It is in the atmosphere, for when we go on a plane ride we are still in Earth's atmosphere,, yet when we go to space we are outside the atmosphere no longer on earth, just the way I see.
In Genesis, God called the "dry ground earth". We also have the first heaven, the atmosphere around the earth, the second heaven, outer space, and then the third heaven where God's throne is.

This has nothing to do with the rapture, but about the "secound" coming of Jesus after the great tribulation in which Jesus comes with firey vengence upon all who do not know God or obey the Gospel.

You just quoted Matthew 24:29–31 — and then claimed it “has nothing to do with the rapture.” But that’s literally the gathering of the elect with angels, clouds, and a trumpet — after the tribulation.

Jesus said it plainly: “Immediately after the tribulation… He will send His angels… and gather His elect.” (Matt. 24:29–31)

1 Thessalonians 4 doesn’t describe a secret pre-trib rapture. It describes a loud, visible return: the Lord descends with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, with the trumpet of God. That matches Matthew 24 perfectly. Not a different event — the same one.

Paul in 2 Thessalonians 1 says the Lord comes in blazing fire to judge the wicked and be glorified in His saints — at the same time. That’s one coming, not two.

Jesus Himself warned against any teaching of a secret coming. “If they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it… For as lightning comes from the east and shines to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.” (Matt. 24:26–27)

There’s no biblical basis for a 7-year gap between a secret rapture and the second coming. That idea was invented in the 1800s by Darby and pushed by Scofield — not by Christ, not by Paul, not by the early Church.

The truth is simple: the Church will go through tribulation. Jesus returns once, visibly, in power and glory — and gathers His elect. That’s the rapture. That’s the resurrection. That’s the end of the age.

The Prophet Zechariah foretells of Jesus' second coming to the earth.

Zec 14:1 Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, and thy spoil shall be divided in the midst of thee.
Zec 14:2 For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity, and the residue of the people shall not be cut off from the city.
Zec 14:3 Then shall the LORD go forth, and fight against those nations, as when he fought in the day of battle.
Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.

During the times of the early Church, there were many false teachers who looked like real Christians living among the children of God. Their purpose was to deceive the Church into believing something false. Most of these false brothers were self-deceived, so what they taught, they really believed to be true. This is how Satan works by blinding the minds and the hearts of the unregenerate men so that the light of the Gospel would not shine on them.

Paul the Apostle wrote first and second Thessalonians to correct some false teaching that had been spread throughout the Church. There was a false teacher(s) who wrote letter(s) to the Church(s) telling them something to the effect that they had missed the rapture, and that the tribulation leading to the second coming of Christ was about to happen.

They even forged the Apostle Paul's name on these letters, saying that it came from Paul. Obviously, this upset many in the Church, because this was completely opposite to what Paul had taught them earlier.

2Th 2:1 Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 THAT YE BE NOT SOON SHAKEN IN MIND, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, NOR BY LETTER AS FROM US, as that the day of Christ is at hand.

Paul again tells the Church that the second coming of Jesus Christ (not the rapture) will not happen until a couple things happen first.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: FOR THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, AND THAT MAN OF SIN BE REVEALED, the son of perdition;

It is very interesting that the word for, “FALLING AWAY” is the Greek word, “APOSTASIA” which means, “DEPARTURE, TO DEPART”. There must be a “DEPARTURE” first, and before the man of sin can be revealed. In other words, the man of sin can not be revealed until there is a departure first!! Some people believe that the departure would be some in the Church departing from the faith. Well, that has been going on since the beginning of Christianity; that's nothing new. Many, many people who have not kept the Word of God in themselves, who go to Church, will always fall away eventually. Jesus tells us this in the parable of the “sower”.

In the Amplified bible, in its footnotes, it says the word “FALLING AWAY” means “THE DEPARTURE OF THE CHURCH!! Of course, there will for sure be a DEPARTURE of a certain group of people from another group of people, so that what happens to one group of people, will not happen to the other!!!
1f642.png
This is why Jesus told his followers to “watch, and pray that you may be counted worthy to escape (I guess you could call it escapeism) those things that will come upon the earth”(Luke 21:36)

The tribulation period can not even begin to start until the Antichrist is revealed, and that can not happen until the Church has left planet Earth!!! If we don't believe verse 3 as the departure of the Church, don't worry, because the Apostle Paul tells us the exact same thing a couple of verses later.

2Th 2:5 Do you not remember that when I was still with you I told you these things?
2Th 2:6 And YOU KNOW WHAT IS RESTRAINING HIM NOW SO THAT HE MAY BE REVEALED IN HIS TIME.
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Only HE WHO NOW RESTRAINS IT WILL DO SO UNTIL HE IS OUT OF THE WAY.
2Th 2:8 And THEN THE LAWLESS ONE WILL BE REVEALED, whom the Lord Jesus will kill with the breath of his mouth and bring to nothing by the appearance of his coming. (ESV)

There is a “POWER” that is “RESTRAINING” this man of sin (Antichrist) from being revealed in his time. Who could this person be who is “RESTRAINING” the wicked one from being revealed? It is the exact same people who have already departed the earth, who alone had that power over all the works of the evil one!!!

Jesus Christ himself gave his Church that “AUTHORITY” in his “NAME” to have dominion over all the works of the devil including the devil himself!!! (Luke 10:19) The “POWER” that backed up that “AUTHORITY” was the Holy Spirit, and he too was given unto the Church!! (Acts 1:8)
Someone might say, “It will be the Holy Ghost (Spirit) who will be taken away, so the Antichrist can be revealed.

There is only one small problem with that kind of thinking. Jesus said when the Holy Ghost (Spirit) comes he will abide with us forever!!

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and HE SHALL GIVE YOU ANOTHER COMFORTER, THAT HE MAY ABIDE WITH YOU FOR EVER;
John 14:26 BUT THE COMFORTER, WHICH IS THE HOLY GHOST, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

If the Holy Spirit goes, so does the Church!!!

The body of Christ, which is the Church, is the only thing restraining and holding back the Antichrist from being revealed to this world. Once the Church is gone (raptured, taken out of the way) the Antichrist will be revealed, and all hell is going to break out on planet earth. May God have mercy on all those who remain!!

Yes — Zechariah 14 is about the Day of the Lord. It’s the same event Jesus describes in Matthew 24.
Same sky-darkening. Same global upheaval. Same return of the Lord in glory.
Nothing about a secret rapture. Nothing about a 7-year gap.

“His feet shall stand… on the Mount of Olives.” (Zech. 14:4)

Exactly. That’s the visible return of Jesus — after tribulation, not before it.
And who’s still there? The remnant. The righteous. The survivors.
He fights for them, not evacuates them.

In fact, Zechariah 14 matches Jesus’ words perfectly:

“Immediately after the tribulation… the sun will be darkened…
and they will see the Son of Man coming… and He will gather His elect.” (Matt. 24:29–31)

There’s no two-part coming. No hidden escape. Just one Second Coming — where Jesus arrives in power, defeats the wicked, and gathers His people.

All you’ve done is quote a passage that confirms exactly what I’ve been saying:
The Church is still here during tribulation — and Jesus comes once, at the end, to rescue and reign.

That’s not “pre-trib.”
That’s Bible.

2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: FOR THAT DAY SHALL NOT COME, EXCEPT THERE COME A FALLING AWAY FIRST, AND THAT MAN OF SIN BE REVEALED, the son of perdition;

(ESV)

This is exactly how deception spreads — by changing the meaning of words, twisting scripture, and ignoring plain context.

Let’s walk through the actual meaning of 2 Thessalonians 2 and expose this Scofield remix step by step:

1. Paul is clearly talking about “the coming of our Lord” AND “our gathering together unto Him.”
That’s the rapture and the return — same event.

“By the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him…” (2 Thess. 2:1)

He’s not distinguishing two comings. He’s combining them.
This is one event — not a pre-trib escape followed by a second coming later.

2. Paul says: Don’t be deceived — “that day” will NOT come until two things happen:

1. The falling away happens

2. The man of sin is revealed — 2 Thess. 2:3

That destroys the pre-trib view in one sentence.
If the Antichrist is revealed before the Day of the Lord —
and the Church is still here to see it —
then the whole secret “rapture before Antichrist” theory collapses.

3. The Greek word “apostasia” does not mean physical departure — it means rebellion, defection, or falling away from truth.

The word is used the same way in Acts 21:21 to refer to Jews forsaking Moses.
It never meant “rapture” until Scofield’s disciples redefined it in the 20th century.

Even the early English Bibles (Wycliffe, Geneva, KJV) translated it as rebellion or falling away — because that’s what it means.
The idea that “apostasia = rapture” is a desperate revisionist trick to force a pre-trib doctrine into a passage that actually refutes it.

4. The “restrainer” is not the Church.
Paul never says that. In fact, he goes out of his way to keep it vague.

Why? Because early Christians knew what was restraining evil — Roman imperial authority was still in power, and many believed God was delaying the rise of the final Antichrist until the proper time. Church Fathers like Tertullian and Chrysostom said the same.

Nowhere does Paul say “the restrainer is the Church” or “the Holy Spirit leaves.”
That’s reading modern theology into the text — not out of it.

And if you're claiming the Holy Spirit leaves the earth, that contradicts Jesus:

“He shall abide with you forever.” (John 14:16)

5. Jesus never taught a secret rapture to escape tribulation.
He said the elect are gathered after the tribulation:

“Immediately after the tribulation… He will send His angels… and gather His elect.” (Matt. 24:29–31)

That’s the same “gathering” Paul describes in 1 Thess. 4 — trumpet, clouds, resurrection.
It’s all one event.
One return. One gathering. One Church. One resurrection.

The pre-trib rapture is not in Scripture.
It’s in Scofield’s footnotes.
It was never taught by Jesus, Paul, Peter, or the early Church.

In fact, Paul wrote 2 Thessalonians to correct the lie that Christ had already come in secret.
Ironically, the exact lie that modern rapture teachers now repeat.

So no — “apostasia” doesn’t mean rapture.
The Church doesn’t disappear.
And the restrainer isn’t us.

Jesus returns once, visibly, after tribulation — to judge the wicked and gather the faithful.
