There’s a pastor on YouTube who’s studied Scripture, especially the original Greek texts from the Interlinnear Bible & he’s in his mid eighties and has been studying over 60 years.
Some of his conclusions center around predestination. Paul mentions this quite a bit. Basically this pastor states God- before the foundation of time - has already selected His elect (victims of mercy) and God has created vessels of wrath fitted for destruction, meaning I guess they were born and designed for hell.
He states God doesn’t love everyone - quoting from Romans about God hating Essau but loving Jacob. Disagree if you want but, yes, it’s there.
I have my suspicions but am not saved so I’m just throwing it out there for any feedback.

This is pure Calvinism, an evil interpretation nearly 500 years old. It's nothing new, and repudiates the pure sovereignty of God to forgive whomever, whenever, and for whatever reason He so desires.

You're not saved because you don't want to be. (We'll see how long that lasts.)

This pastor states divorce is okay as long as there’s a bill of divorcement - shown in the Old Testament. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I’m not going to take any chances. Better not to date period! Why does Gino Jennings call himself Apostle Gino Jennings? I can’t deny he uses Scripture quite impressively.

Jesus disagreed.

It hath been said, Whosoever shall put away his wife, let him give her a writing of divorcement: But I say unto you, That whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery: and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.
(Matthew 5:31-32 KJV)

The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except it be for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery.
(Matthew 19:3-9 KJV)

Better not to date period!
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
(Genesis 1:27-28 KJV)

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
(Genesis 1:31 KJV)

Why does Gino Jennings call himself Apostle Gino Jennings?
Never heard of the guy.

But Jesus taught to use NO titles.

But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. But be not ye called Rabbi: {i.e. Pastor} for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ. But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant. And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.
(Matthew 23:5-12 KJV)

I’m not sure why you brought up Genesis when I agreed that it was better not to date again. I was married 2 miserable years during a time of wanting love out of loneliness and stupidly asking this woman on the 3rd date if she’d marry me.
She was married twice before marrying me, so afterward it made sense why it was doomed. We were both living in adultery. Now that I’m nearing 65, better to be alone than feel any more hurt and pains by a woman. When I am sent to hell, it won’t be for fornication.

As already stated, this is Calvinism. A lazy and dishonest interpretation of scripture.

A belief arrived at by cherry picking a few a scriptures. Most popular being Rom 9. Verses 15 and 21 mainly.

Rom 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.
Rom 9:21 Hath not the potter power over the clay, of the same lump to make one vessel unto honour, and another unto dishonour?

Now, it is a forgivable error. As scripture does state that God is all knowing 1 John 3:20 . All knowing + Creator of all = Inevitable to choose some for heaven and some for hell.

But, this is not what scripture outside of Rom 9 and 1 John 3:20 teaches.

In Romans, Paul is making the point that God is God and can do whatever He wants.

It is always important to consider all scripture on a topic in order to arrive at a truth. Scripture also teaches us the following about God:

1. He is impartial Acts 10:34
2. He is righteous in all His ways Psalm 145:17
3. He is light with no darkness in Him at all 1 John 1:5
4. He is just and it is unthinkable that He do what is wicked Job 34:12
5. He is the very definition of love 1 Pet 4:7
6. He wills ALL to be saved 1 Tim 2:4
7. He is open to our judgment of Him Gen 18:20, Exo 32, Psalm 34:8, Eph 3:19

As such the correct picture of God to draw in our mind is one of a Being who is as righteous as He is powerful.

Both His omnipotence and omniscience are limited by who He is. Just because He can be evil, does not mean He is. Partiality is evil. Everyone on this planet with a working brain given by Him, know this. He would not tell prophets that He is good if He was evil. God is not man that lies Num 23:19.

Divorce is not ok. Jesus is very clear that the only grounds for divorce is adultery in Matt 5:32 and Paul adds abandonment in 1 Cor 7:15.

If you divorce and there is no adultery, death or complete abandonment by your spouse, you will be guilty of committing a mortal sin.

Divorce leads to both your spouse and you being forced into adultery and breaking up a family unit. God's thoughts on the sin of adultery was to ordain a graphic and violent death by stoning Lev 20:10-12. God does not change His mind Num 23:19.

Unrepentant mortal sinners are guaranteed a seat in hell. Venial sinners, like those who only have adulterous thoughts as Jesus explains in Matt 5:28, well their seat in hell only God can know. As only He can judge the depths of our hearts Jer 17:9-11. But mortal sinners, there is absolutely no blur!!

This Gino guy is a false teacher. False teaching is a mortal sin. One of the biggest too. Please stop listening to him.

Only to establish the groundwork that God does think marriage is a good thing.

Perhaps I ought to have added -

And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
- Genesis 2:18 KJV

Along with "There are plenty of other fish in the sea." (I think that was from the book of Jonah :p )

Sorry, though, to hear of your troubles with relationships. I can certainly agree that it's not easy. But I disagree with your pastor guy. Might I suggest that you pray for guidance?

Good luck,

Hello Rhema,
Please correct me if I’m wrong. I have been married. I was husband 3, she was wife 1. We divorced.
Scripture states i can no longer date or remarry again, unless through being a widow or fornication. While I was married I didn’t think I was committing adultery with my wife until much later.
I do not know if she is still alive.
So I decided it’s best not to date than risk jeopardizing my soul for obvious reasons.

I would offer.

As many as the Holy Father has given to the Son of man Jesus. They alone can come being empowered strengthened by the Holy Father.

John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

As many as the key to understnding .

The key is both (1) to hear the voice of him who is invisible and (2) empower him, strengthening him inwardly to complete the one will of the Father

Christ the husband is not served by the dying hands of mankind. He alone can make our hard hearts soft , The faithful created "Let it be" softened by the living word (sola scriptura) and "it was"

Job 23:11-16 My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food. But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth. For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.;Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him. For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:

Ask oneself? Who makes your heart soft? Can you turn the faithful Creator?

Christ as Emanuel working in us alone can soften a heart with the water of his word.. the loving doctrines that fall like rain and cause growth (Deuteronomy 32:1-2)

Philippian2 below supports the idea that God is not served by human hands as a will of dying mankind .

Philippians 2:13-14;For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
;Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

Jesus the Son of man in respect to Philippians 2 above did the will of the Father empowered by the Father with delight . Others like the murmuring racist Jonas had to be tossed overboard, vomited out by a whale, dragged through the pricks and after Christ moving him to preach the gospel ,Jonas wanted to die because of his racism .

Racism a terrible sin that kills inwardly by judging outwardly. Only God knowns the hearts of all men

Not Satan the King of identity thieves. coming. with all power to deceive through lying signs (judging outwardly) to wonder, wonder, wonder after as if true prophecy.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-11 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.;And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

Follow sola scriptura no need to wonder in Limbo. No fear that the Holy Father will send a strong delusion by which men can believe the king of identity theft the father of lies .

Where are the chapters and verses stating that the Atonement of Christ is not offered to even the brainwashed and the possessed? Seriously.

Because last I checked, everyone has this blessing available. In related news, the angels in Heaven also had choices to make, and even in that context the satanic ones chose Hell, and now the devils have zero choice.

Mortals like Cain, the pharaohs, the kings, the jews, the gentiles, the scattered, you, me, the robber and the thief, everyone has a lifetime to choose salvation through Christ.

Pre-destination is the Way to Heaven, and that is Christ, the Word, God. He made that path for everyone to walk. Look at Saul of Tarsus and then ask yourself why Apostle Judas Iscariot chose suicide over Atonement.

Focus on Christ and what the Word needs us to do (ex. the Great Commision). Peace, fam.

You are not saved and living in sin because of your sin nature. That sin nature came from Adam, and it was imputed to all who have ever lived. The only way to get rid of sin is through the saving Grace of Jesus Christ. Accepting Christ as your savior erases your sins because Jesus forgives them. Without Jesus, you can get married 20 times and rob banks. Sin is sin and they never go away. It's not that they add up, but even the wheelchair bound person who never sinned is still dead in their sins because of Adam. So, there is no hoping you have been good enough or the good out ways the bad, you are still a sinner. The only way out of HELL, is Jesus. Pray to Jesus to save you.

figuring this out is low priority right now.

start asking Jesus what to do with your life. and test the spirits.

don't take anything to heart that you hear unless you can clearly hear all 9 words I confess Jesus Christ is come in the flesh. and find a local christian community you can join and pray with. there's strength in numbers and learning to test and recognize the Spirit of God in other christians.

Interesting interpretation.

I wonder how you deal with these verses?

Wherefore if thy hand or thy foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.
- Matthew 18:8 KJV

And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
- Mark 9:43 KJV

Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not commit adultery: But I say unto you, That whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart. And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.
- Matthew 5:27-29 KJV

How literal are we to take this?

Thanks,
Rhema

Wow! What a thread of weird nutcases and trolls. Who on earth could come to any semblance of God's truth by reading this thread? Only by God's sovereign power can it happen.

"Even though you intended to do harm to me, God intended it for good, in order to preserve a numerous people, as he is doing today."
(Gen 50:20 NRSVue)

The Bible informs us God is not served by the hands of dying mankind as a will of men .In any way shape of from .He is the faithful "let there be" and "it was God alone good "

In that way he can use a unredeemed as a apostles sent messenger with prophecy .

He knew beforehand that men would venerate dying mankind called apostles above that which is written.(sola scriptura) 1 Corinthian 4:6-7

In order to demonstrate In a ceremonial parable using a Ass as a unclean animal to represent the unredeemed that must be redeemed with a clean animal a Lamb to show born again or break its neck

Using Balaam's Ass as a apostle sent with prohecy. . The Ass rebuked the false apostle false prophet Balaam

The witness of two confirming God has spoken

Exodus 13:13 And every firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb; and if thou wilt not redeem it, then thou shalt break his neck: and all the firstborn of man among thy children shalt thou redeem.

Exodus 34:20 But the firstling of an ass thou shalt redeem with a lamb: and if thou redeem him not, then shalt thou break his neck. All the firstborn of thy sons thou shalt redeem. And none shall appear before me empty.

Numbers 22:28 And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times

I think it is why the many in Mathew will prophecy in his name and cast out demon in his name. there were many not sent by God like Balaam the false apostle thinking God is served by the hands of dying mankind
