Jesus told us not to murder, he did not tell us not to protect ourselves on our families when threatened. You can stop somebody bent on killing you or your family far more effectively with a gun.

Criminals and murderers can purchase guns illegally, or steal guns from legal gun owners. The majority of gun crimes are done by criminals who get hold of firearms illegally. So making more gun laws does not stop criminals who do not follow the law anyway.

And the liberal left want bigger government oversight, they want more laws and restrictions on personal rights. And the liberal left want to ban all sorts of things, including banning all guns.

So your position is right in line with the liberal left.

Yes. Some people are not responsible enough to possess a firearm. For everybody's safety, there should be reasonable limits on what lethal force an individual can possess. That's a question of public policy.

Surely that's not controversial?

So, where do you draw the line? Some people are not responsible enough to raise children either. But unless you live in Communist, China, nobody tells you how many children you’re allowed to have, even if you are an irresponsible person who doesn’t raise them properly and doesn’t provide for them. Do you see the connection? Leftists/liberals do not use the brain that God gave them to think, and reason things out. They do not connect the fact that the more so-called writes the government has, the less rights the average citizen has. And that includes being able to own a firearm in order to defend oneself from criminals.
 
Think about it… The same leftist loonies claim that a woman has rights over her womb are just fine with the government imposing a mandate in order for people to put something into their body a.k.a. the jab, that is gene therapy and is proven not to work. Do you see the connection?
 
It’s very simple… The more rights that the government has the less rights the average citizen has, whether it comes to protecting themselves from violent crime, believing in and adhering to the sanctity of life, and worshiping corporately in a church. It’s all connected.

Not sure of the process in the US but in the UK if social services find abuse or neglect, then children will be removed from their parents for their own safety and wellbeing.

Part of a functioning government's role is to preserve freedom. Freedom for children to go to school without fear of being murdered included. Most countries manage this, but the USA does not.

If there were armed guards, and every school and teachers were allowed to carry, children would have no fear of going to school and being murdered

And that’s the problem… People now look to the government for everything… Money, protection, the very things which we, as responsible Christians, should be doing for ourselves. I am not saying that there are some people who do not need help because they are disabled, but there are many disabled people who work. I am also saying that the government has no business, absolutely no business, regulating, who does who does not have the right as a law, abiding Citizen, to have a firearm. You completely missed my point, and I am finished with this discussion. As I said… It is a very simple concept… Communism robs people of their rights. Socialism robs people of their rights… Their God-given rights. If you are a Christian, and you believe in the sanctity of life, do you think Roe versus Wade should have been overturned? If you do, then you believe that the government overstepped its reach by instituting that law, and carrying it out. I praise God for the day it was overturned, at least in part. May God have mercy on the United States of America for turning so far away from Him. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, which is exactly what is happening today in this country and around the world.
