In the scriptures it's written in Proverbs 14: 6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: But knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
And the scriptures also say a lot about fools. Especially ones who dig in their heels over something stupid.

Quote ONE VERSE that says the Trees talked to Adam or Eve.

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
(Genesis 3:1 KJV)
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
(Genesis 3:2 KJV)
And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:
(Genesis 3:4 KJV)

The wise thing would be to stop claiming stupid stuff like Adam and Eve talked to the trees. I know you think you have some "special" insight into this scripture passage, but you don't. You're just making yourself look like a fool.

And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons.
(Genesis 3:7 KJV)

THEY knew. Not "they were TOLD" (by the trees).

And he said, Who told thee that thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
(Genesis 3:11 KJV)

Hast thou EATEN. Not "Hast thou listened" (to the tree).

Eve listened to the Serpent, (see actual scripture verses above) and Adam listened to Eve, (see scripture verse below).

And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat.
(Genesis 3:12 KJV)

EAT, They ATE. How one could actually deny the narrative of this passage is truly beyond reason. That's why I was joking about mushrooms. You're offended? Good. I'm offended by your nonsense. The scripture actually states, "THEY knew." Who told them they were naked? THEY told themselves that they were naked. And since then, every man has at one time or another usurped the sovereignty of God to establish what is good or what is evil, or to declare right from wrong.

peace in Jesus mighty name

peace in Jesus mighty name
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Still waiting for the scripture verse that says Adam and Eve talked to the Tree.

At this point, the only sane conclusion is that you agree with me but would rather not admit it.

According to Seventh Day Adventism, though folks be regenerated in accord with
John 3:3-8, they can still be lost if they pass on without first undergoing baptism;
which in their mind's eye isn't all that bad because SDA rejects the traditional
Christian hell: insisting it's a hoax.

When you should be sitting there praying ??

Rhema

No, there is a time to giggle and a time to pray...are you trying to make yourself sound more holy than others?

I giggled because I told you so, but you kept right on trying to talk common sense to him.

SDA is another Christian false religion, like calvinism, JW's and Mormons (called "Christian" because they use the Bible like Christianity does).

I said peace in Jesus name, not peace in general. This is your problem, you don't understand the word of God spiritual. Jesus says in Matthew 15: 13 But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. 14 Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch. Again Peace in Jesus name

I said peace in Jesus name, not peace in general.
And I say unto you, Truth in Jesus name.

This is your problem, you don't understand the word of God spiritual.
This is your problem, you don't understand that not everything is "spiritual," and that once "spiritual" is pushed to the primacy, then everything can become "spiritual" and frittered into nonsense.

Yet even if the trees were "spiritual," where is there any indication in the narrative that your "spiritual" Adam and your "spiritual" Eve ever talked to the "spiritual" trees ??

It's not in there. You've invented a fiction, demeaning the scriptures, and have become a false scribe.

So then, Jesus wasn't real but "spiritual" ??

That's where this all leads.

General principle then, it IS literal until it can't be.

When nothing can mean what it says, then everything said becomes nothing.

Literal death, dear one, is NOT spiritual, and you're going to literally die.

Rhema

For from the least of them even to the greatest they have all committed iniquity; from the priest even to the false prophet they have all wrought falsely. And they healed the breach of my people imperfectly, making light of it, and saying, Peace, peace, when there is no peace.

Pray without ceasing.

LOL! Keep that up and I will begin to believe that you are a super-literalist!

We know (when we engage our brains) that Paul does not mean to literally pray without ceasing...because you have to eat and sleep, etc. He means to be an a constant attitude of communication with God throughout your day. Even Paul did not pray without ceasing.

So Paul doesn't mean what he says .... ???

Keep that up and I will begin to believe that you are a theological revisionist.

Cambridge Greek Lexicon
(pg. 19): ἀδιαλείπτως - without intermission, continuously

Liddell Scott Lexicon (LINK) - A. unintermitting, incessant,

He means to be an a constant attitude of communication with God throughout your day.
And constant doesn't mean "continuously" or "incessant" ?? (Of course it does.)

If one stays within a spirit of prayer, then one couldn't be in a spirit of anger or hatred, or suspicion, or acting upon a spirit of greed or self-centeredness.

Every second of my life is bathed in prayer because prayer should surround all that we do and say. People clamour on about Mindfulness, when they ought to be seeking Prayerfulness.

Again, there's not unceasing commitment to pure definition rather than taking into account semantics and nuances. When you say that you are going to fly to Florida, do you literally mean that you are going to flap your arms and fly under your own power? Or do you insinuate that you are boarding a plane and the plane is going to fly you to Florida?

Your wooden literalism has been the downfall of other claims you have made in the past. Remember, figures of speech, and how many thousands of times they are used in Scripture, along with semantics and nuances.

Where do you get that nonsense from? These have little to do with prayer, and everything to do with walking in the Spirit. There is a difference.

Every second of my life is bathed in prayer because prayer should surround all that we do and say. People clamour on about Mindfulness, when they ought to be seeking Prayerfulness.

I would say that's a lie, but I don't think you understand the point of the conversation or the text. No one can remain "every second of my life" in prayer, unless you are a monk living in a cave and never sleep. You are being ridiculous here.

PS: When nothing can mean what it says, then everything said becomes nothing.

That might be true, but I never stated that nothing means what it says. You and I both know that we can take five different people, stick them in a room with a Scripture text written on a blackboard, give them paper and pen and ask them to write down what they think the text means...and we will get 2, 3, even 5 different even conflicting interpretations...and all five people will claim that they got their interpretation straight from the Spirit.

Sometimes people who know how to read and study Scripture make mistakes...if you know the utilize a complete Biblical hermeneutic, but only ever stop after examining the Greek meanings of words, then you, too, will fail to come to the Spirit's intended meaning in every text that He inspired...

Again, there's not unceasing commitment to pure definition rather than taking into account semantics and nuances.
I always take into account semantics and nuances and figures of speech. I just don't invent them. However, there is a line to be drawn, or else one winds up with an allegorical (i.e. spiritual) Adam and an allegorical (i.e. spiritual) Eve talking to an allegorical (i.e. spiritual) Tree.

In this case, though, the word you are looking for is hyperbole. You think "Pray without ceasing" is hyperbole, yet I've found that prayer applies to each and every aspect of our life (as opposed to giggling at someone who seems to have troubles with critical thinking). I thought it impolite and ungracious, and called you out on it only to find that you justify your behaviour by retreating into semiotics.

Your wooden literalism has been the downfall of other claims you have made in the past.
Unfounded blathering. (Truly.) Dismissed.

Remember, figures of speech, and how many thousands of times ...
THOUSANDS of times ?? (Talk about hyperbole....)

But I can agree that Paul's thorn in the flesh was a pain in the neck.

These have little to do with prayer, and everything to do with walking in the Spirit. There is a difference.
And that would be .... ???

You are being ridiculous here.
And I would counter that you are not well accomplished in the practice of prayer. Are you granted every petition that you make in prayer?

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
(John 14:13 KJV)

Or does "whatsoever" not really mean "whatsoever" ??

you, too, will fail to come to the Spirit's intended meaning
The Spirit talks to me directly, explaining exactly what is meant. I have no clue what he does with you or others.

Sometimes people who know how to read and study Scripture make mistakes...
... ergo... name one mistake I've made ??

Rhema

... in every text that He inspired...
Indeed. But it's a presupposition that every text in this "Bible" is something that He inspired.
