Arguments for OSAS

1Cor 12:3 Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking in the Spirit of God ever says “Jesus is accursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except in the Holy Spirit.

Matt 7:21 “Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

The "No True scottsman" fallacy.

A Christian can't lose salvation.
Judas lost salvation.
Judas was never saved.

It's a fallacy, because the definition of Christian changed. Instead of just being a believer to be a Christisn one must be a believer and also endure to the end.

Butch,

Are living a perfectly sinless life? What do you do when you sin? Do get born again again? Do you get re-saved after you sin? Curious how you osas doubters can stay sinlessly perfect when the rest of the entire world can't.

This has nothing to do with the subject.

Luke 15:4-7,32
What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? …

Matthew 18:12
How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray?
"And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he rejoices more over that one sheep than over the ninety-nine that did not go astray.…"

For Jesus; is "The Good Shepherd" He finds His Sheep!:p

This has nothing to do with the subject.
It's apropos, and it's a very simple question, Butch. If you are not living in sinless perfection, and you claim to be born again (hence saved), do you lose your salvation after each sin you commit?

What is that complaint from others about cherrypicking verses and citing scripture out of context?
And yet here is a classic example of wrong application as per usual to give OSAS some credibility

Luke 15:1 Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him.
15:2 And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.”
15:3 So he told them this parable: the lost sheep good shepherd
15:7 Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance.

Luke 15:10 Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

do you lose your salvation after each sin you commit?
NO
but people lose or let their salvation go (depart from the faith) when they themselves stop believing in Jesus and the gospel over time.
Scriptures teach us of this danger many times over.

The phrase born again is a reference to the Jews.

for we are many, who think we understand "The Salvation of GOD" we toss around the Word of GOD, as if it is, the bread crumbs, from the Basket, of "Hansel & Gretel"! And there is No Shame.:pensive:

And why did Jesus speak in "Parables"?
The Purpose of Jesus' Parables
"Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. This is why I speak to them in parables: ‘Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.’ in them the prophecy of Isaiah is fulfilled: ‘You will be ever hearing but never understanding; you will be ever seeing but never perceiving.…"
He spoke to the Jews in Parables. As Paul says, blindness in part has happened to Israel.

I don't toss it around. I make sure what I say is well grounded.

Really? People are born again, have the confident assurance of having received the most precious gift of eternal life, Jesus calls them HIS, the Holy Spirit indwells their luves, and you think they just walk awsy? You will do that?

You're not born again? Jesus said you must be. Paul's letter to Titus tells us you must be. Why aren't you born again?
Jesus told Nicodemus, a Jew, he must be born again. If we understand how it all works through the Bible, would see these things. However, when pastors and theologians teach us to hop through the Bible, take sentences from here and there, and string them together to pretend they say what they don't say, we never really see what the Bible is actually saying. That there are millions of Christian who say they are born again, shows how unbelievably widespread this problem is.

So you think that no gentile needs to be regenerated? That's odd. Are you a believer in replacement theology?
