We speak often in a language, that is "mysterious and hidden" that even immature christian do not understand although they hear the words rightly and plainly! And we know God has hidden to the fullness the mysterious things Of His from the people of this world and has revealed them to us! And no matter how smart they are, and no matter how many Languages they can speak or write, they cannot understand the "Language of God" and I am not talking about that "Pentecostal gibberish" they call tongues, that only make them to be "barbarians" to us, speaking in a non intelligible language calling it a language of GOD!

Our God, most of the time speaks in a "Anthropormorphic" language and we speak back to Him as such ways, but never in gibberish forms. The language of "cults" is "gibberish and demonic"! God speaks in a plain language, and when He speaks in a plain language does not mean you understood the words He had said plainly.

I lit the grill, I cut up some white onions, a little garlic, crush up red pepper, sweet yellow, sweet red, and green peppers, and I cut up in little pieces "Andouille smoke sausages" and laid it down at the bottom of the pan and pour bake beans on top, and place the pan on the "charcoal grill" of hardwood mix coals"! And I smile at "Brother-Paul" and then I grin at "Sue", and then I put my "Arms" around "Fragrance Grace" and held her for a minute or so and let the "Spirit of God" flow. And "Joanna" from Poland with so much "kindness"

Then the 1st thing I knew the meal was finish, I ask my youngest grandson was it good, he smile at me and said granddaddie it is more than good. During the cooking time I had replied to type the contents of this post. If I seem to be proud, I am not, To walk or try to walk with Christ, it is to a great cost, and sometimes great pain. For a start Ploughboy, I never said that tongues were the groans of a deceitful desperate wicked heart, I said (Tongues are a spiritual language that only God understands, and to pray in tongues is to put a language to the groans of of a heart that not even the speaker can articulate and neither can the enemy, many people make light of a very valuable gift, which is sad.) So I can only surmise that the [ deceitful desperately wicked ] bit was directed at me and I find that sad. Your first Question was Who told you "Language" [tongues] was a spiritual language? 1 Corinthians 14:2 For anyone who speaks in tongues does not speak to men but to God. Indeed no-one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. verse 18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you; But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. The words in Corinthians are the words of Paul, but it seems you know better.

For a start Ploughboy, I never said that tongues were the groans of a deceitful desperate wicked heart, I said (Tongues are a spiritual language that only God understands, and to pray in tongues is to put a language to the groans of of a heart that not even the speaker can articulate and neither can the enemy, many people make light of a very valuable gift, which is sad.) Your first Question was Who told you "Language" [tongues] was a spiritual language? 1 Corinthians 14:2 For anyone who speaks in tongues does not speak to men but to God. Indeed no-one understands him; he utters mysteries with his spirit. verse 18 I thank God that I speak in tongues more than all of you; But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue. The words in Corinthians are the words of Paul, but it seems you know better.

You didn't mention that Paul spoke the tongues of angels. Not just an earthly language. Like all other gifts tongues is spoken through faith. Can I honestly judge someone else's tongues. There have been times I question my own gift but I cast down the imagination and speak by faith.

They heard each one speaking in his own tongue. A friend of mine went to Germany and at a convention spoke to the speaker and prophecies in German. He didn't speak German so he knew it was the gift of tongues. Sadly he never spoke tongues before and never after. He is waiting for the Lord to do it again.

There will be always those who will abuse or pretend, but it is sad that some Christians and churches want to put the Holy Spirit in a box. I'm really worried about people calling something they do not necessary understand gibberish or even demonic. wow. Sometimes it comes close to blaspheming the Holy Spirit. Also, the gift of tongues is not confined to those who identify themselves as Pentecostals. Some people think that because they are Cessationists. Maybe, they do not even know that they are. Also, It is despicable condemning the entire Pentecostal movement as 'a cult.' Perhaps, there is one, two, or three cults who demand/require speaking in tongues but all those churches happened to believe in other false doctrines such as work-salvation, but not all Pentecostals will speak in tongues, or even believe it has any more value than any other gift. Just like not every baptist is a Calvinistic. It is as simple as that. If you're worried about cults, get rid of the one YOU are in. You can't say the word 'culture' before, spelling cult. Maybe, it is good to stop and think about that for a minute.

I prefer to pray in a language I understand, and I can pray/speak in two 'earthly' languages. I always have the right words, and if I do not have the right words, I tell God I'm not sure what to say and ask him to give me the right words and they usually come in a beautiful way, but there were times when I prayed in tongues, because I was alone, desperate, and in utter sadness.

And many of "true Christians" are dying from violent and horrible deaths. To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the upmost parts of this world.
The Bible Reformed college I went to also was a missionary college that sent Missionaries teens through out the world, some were murdered, rape, wounded, beaten, and still stayed proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ even unto those who capture them, when they come back for a break , they would tells us in the Auditorium. Of the things them went through. Women would tells how they would be rape and still witness to their rapist. And how many would get saved. The sickness they would endure and how some died, n the jungles and bodies never coming back home. Most of the parents of these young Adults parents would be furious of these decisions their children had made. And they could not stop them, they was of age and the law was on their sides. We would meet and here them, coming back from the mission fields and we would be crying hearing their stories. Going to places not knowing what kind of language the indigenous are speaking into the deep areas of this world. It would make you ashamed of yourself of what we call a "Christian"! That is one of the reason I will never call myself a Christian! But I am a Child of God!
