very very strong and good word this morning ploughboy .i must say i have welcomed many folk into my home in years gone by and my hubby has his freinds who are not christian and i do make tea so i feel convicted by these words but struggle to know how i am to respond to non believers who may visit i have a cupboard full of bibles so all people can leave with one this is always my hearts desire for all people who are in my home for any reason to see and recieve jesus . but i do understand many can be decievers and i pray for discernmet always so wisdom needed as such a strong word so need practical application in my life as mentioned . Modern English translations are not watered down. They are simply translations into current English, rather than the language of 500 years ago. Biblical scholarship has taked advantage of new discoveries since the KJV was translated, so there are many minor improvements in accuracy and small detail. No doctrine hangs on any of these improvements in understanding.

There's a spectrum of approaches balancing readability and accuracy, and good options whatever your needs and personal preference.

If you are familiar and comfortable with the language of the KJV, stick with it. If you're finding the archaic language a struggle, there's a lot of excellent translations to look into.

My personal favourite is NRSV -- it's both accurate and elegant, good to read for private study and good to read out loud too.

Go to Blue letter Bible.com and put in your verse then hover over tools and bibles will pop up giving the many different versions to the verse. I find it quite helpful.
There are at least 15 different translations. And you don't have to buy them.

You seem to believe in predestination, (basically all of TULIP) and you say we can't do anything to affect our salvation, but then you say we need to repent. How's that for a conflicting view?

I prefer the word "proclaimer" for i am not a preacher neither do I desired. to peach but a "proclaimer' of the unadulterated "WORD of GOD" in doing so, it will not please mankind. And The Jesus that i know from reading the bible, was hated by the world, None of them was good no not one! He died for evil people, not one is good, from the cradle to the grave. "All are sinners and deserve the wrath of the AlMighty God" according to Bible.

Now I cannot cut you without cutting myself! It is a "Double Edge Sword" and especially when you are on a "Battlefield"! and the blade is sharp!

If I tell you my plan is to water and feed your dogs while your on vacation then I am giving you my word that I will do just that.

In sending Jesus, God sent a Man, his only begotten Son (In the flesh) into the world to show us his Word which is/was his Plan to reconcile all things unto
himself through Jesus.

Jesus knew no sin until God had made him to be sin and in doing so it was required that this man die for that sin which was ours.
He traded his right standing with the Father for our unrighteousness, and in return gave us his right standing with the Father.

This one act of Jesus, gave us justification unto life. (Rom 5:18) This was and remains the Plan or Word of God for ALL mankind as the propitiation for sin has been accomplished, that part of the Plan/Word is finished. The reconciliation is still ongoing I'm sure you would agree.

If you are to learn something then usually it is better that you are shown instead of told. But if told and shown, then you will get the best understanding.

God was in Jesus reconciling the world unto himself, but through Jesus. Thats the Plan and he's sticking to it, as there is no other name by which man must be saved.
He told us with words and showed us with the crucifixion and resurrection of his Son.

Now what did Jesus get out of all this? Was he just Gods whipping boy for our sin and he returned to the same subordinate position he held with the Father before
he came to be the sacrifice for sin? NO.

The Father has told us many times over there is no other God beside me in the OT. Isaiah 45:5, 44:6, 44:8, 45:21, Hos 13:4, Deu 32:39.

Then along comes Jesus who grew in wisdom and stature, and favor with God and men. Who once glorified was announced to the creation that he was now a God.
..........Heb 1:8 "But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne O God is for ever and ever: a scepter of righteousness (symbol of power) is the scepter of thy kingdom."

We are told by Jesus who was speaking the words of his Father to "Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."

The righteousness of God was to trade your unrighteousness for the righteousness of Jesus, accomplished at his crucifixion. The kingdom of God is within you?
This spirit of the man that came from God, as everything comes from God (1Co 11:12), is the precious child waiting to be born in the image of its Father when
it is quickened upon Holy Ghost baptism. That new creature is a son of God. Therefore Gods habitation, just like he indwelled Jesus.

If this is true then why did Jesus receive the same quickening at Jordan? Could it be that he was just a man just like Adam (the second Adam) that needed to be born
from above? "The first Adam was made a living soul, the last Adam became a life giving Spirit."
It would seem that way as we mentioned earlier that he GREW IN WISDOM, so if he didn't possess all the wisdom of God he therefore could not have been God.
But to become a God and enter into the kingdom it was necessary for him just as it is for us. Again an example to follow.

He was given life within himself from the Father. (John 5:26)
He became a life giving Spirit (1 Co 15:45)
He was given all authority in heaven and in earth. (Matt 28:18)
He is to give life to as many as the Father has given him. (John 17:2)
He is to be the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit, quickens. (John 1:33)

All these things he was given and or commissioned to do by his Father, and Jesus tells us that whosoever overcomes as he did will sit in his throne just as he sat down
in his Fathers throne.
Sounds like he laid out a blueprint for us to follow whether you call it the Word of God or the Plan of God if you follow along you will come to the same rewards he
came to according to the Word of God.

What really makes things so complicated we don't know what A "GOD" is. we know some of the things he has done. Some. And we know He is incomprehensible. For it is impossible to phantom Him. We use human words like him, he, God, We talk and use human words like "throne" all of these words are just human words. These words are no where near to express this "Being". Human words says: "Father, The Son, The Holy Ghost" are one but different. In reality, on that final Day, It will be not like we understand now completely different.; But understandable.

I guess when He tells us what it has all been about on the great Day. It will be a WOW, moment. For the Bible says: it has been God's Secret what He has been doing in creating "Human".

From looking at Jesus Christ who became a life giving Spirit, that death has no dominion over, and who has all authority in heaven and earth, and as he said NOTHING
shall be impossible to you as well as he, I would think we get a tiny picture of what a God is and isn't as all the above apply to the Father as well.
A God cannot die if death has no dominion over him, just as the second death has no dominion over those born again. They have passed from death unto life.
Those who shall sit with him in his role of King of kings will exercise authority over all the earth and the heavens and will judge angels.
Nothing shall be impossible to them, so use your imagination and it still falls woefully short of the reality that is to come.
But as you have quoted, "eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, nor entered into the heart of man the things that God hath prepared for those that love him."

i was taught
once saved always saved in many pentecostal churches over many years but my good christian freind told me this is not right which ill be honest shattered my hopes for a long long time ,
as i never believed i was saved anymore because of my sins that i did and still do he said willfull sin, disobedience , and not obeying the word would put us in great danger of losing salvation this made me very fearfull and fretfull a lot .and ive met so many folk over the years who have felt the same and i think it be good and helpfull to the weaker in faith or new to the faith to be assured of their salvation as so much wrong teaching going on in the name of the Lord.
so just putting this out there for all you seasoned saints to put it biblically correct Amen x
