I agree. Lift out the Word of God and let it expose heresy. Sometimes heresy does need to be exposed and called what it is but this can be done without personal attack.

Dear Member Alan,
First before you do so, you'd have to first define "Heretic" and what would be considered "Heretical Teaching". Also, seek to see if it's contrary to the Statement of Faith of Talk Jesus, Christianity as a whole, or just something specific to a denominational teaching.
Statement of Faith
With this being considered, then presenting your case to the Staff before putting it to open forum would be my suggestion. Maybe, via a PM, including Staff Members for review/discussion.
I state the method for this, because to Catholics who would consider Protestants' teaching Heretical, and Protestants' to Catholics. Yet, we have had both here on Talk Jesus exchanging thoughts, going over Scripture without the identifying mark of Heretic being tossed around.
Not that it hasn't happened here on some postings during the heat of battle. Yet, to do what you suggest as the primary focus of a thread is something else entirely and should be done in order and considered carefully before doing so.
I hope this helps some, in how to move forward on identifying/addressing "Heretics".

There is no place in the bible that allows us to name any false teacher. The Word says to rebuke those who follow this false teaching and to teach the truth. No more. It's not up to us to pass judgment on anyone.

I received a notification from Christ4Ever that he mentioned me in a post. Though not mentioned openly here..... in the alert I was told I was. Now reading here, I can deduce 2+2=4. Kinda like the obvious outcome of scripture when put together.

Please, if there is any issue with what I post, openly say so. And if you desire to ban me ,do not pick apart what I post and add to your own narrative because you could not, in wisdom come up with what you may like in it yourselves. This happens often. I know I am no different than Christ in that- because that is done with His Word.

Seeing that this is a Protestant forum , that would be the only name that would throw people into convulsions. Certainly not because I said she was with sin before Christ saved her, that throws Catholics into convulsions. So what I can deduce....., Sola Scriptura is not really accepted, though touted by Protestants?

So, since Heretic is being proposed, what heretical statements have I made? Did I not support with scripture any thing I said? Also, is it not a false assumption to say "Catholic", when they reject the truth that Mother Miryam was born with sin?
So how could I be put on trial , in essence as a Catholic? And to be considered a heretic from heavens point of view , I would have to deny the written Word which scripture is, I have not. The mention and discussion of a matriarch of scripture does not qualify for that label .
Now, if it is because I spoke about scripture in other discussions concerning prophecy, is that not what all do here, speak about scripture and their understanding of it? Not everyone holds to the same interpretation, right? There would be no need for discussion and debate then.
What I gather is Christianity here has become like political lines drawn in the sand. Any dissent from what (men declare ) as acceptable is frowned upon even if it is TRUTH. Freedom of speech is rejected, even when there is no abuse of it. The only offense seems to be discussion about the Lord's Mother, she is His mother right?:

As for extra biblical text , I only used Enoch which from reading here, discussion about his writings is present.
And again the Catholic thing, their Canon is 73 and so is MOST ORTHODOX. Not me though. So please, is there anything you would like to share with the class? Peace in Christ .

If you rebuke those who follow false teaching, how is that not naming false teachers?

Wow. Really? Why not read that verse in context? Its not talking about false teachers or heretics....It's talking about people who won't work to contribute to the community. Your answer is totally out of context of the conversation.
If you rebuke people for following a false teaching you are talking about the teaching, not the teacher...I would have thought you would see that.

First point out the false teaching, and with Sola Scriptura (scripture alone) prove it wrong.

Scripture is PROFITABLE for doctrine, meaning MAKING. If what one teaches can be supported by scripture, then they have made profitable doctrine. It is kinda like when the doctrine of the Holy Trinity was made. Though the words (Holy Trinity) are not WORDED as such in scripture, it is present in eqaution and the sum therefore equals 3 as one. Now are there some WORDS, TITLES that I spoke of that one could not possibly deduce from the equation of the scriptures to equal?

How is conduct not related to false teaching? If you are teaching a false conduct, then you are a false teacher. Correct?

The issue is not with anyone other than me. So please, feel free to question. Anyone can throw out the Word Heretic or FALSE TEACHER, proof of argument must be presented. We are all before heaven. Does that really matter if one, in their heart is not really for heaven? Probably not, but it matters to me , I can only speak for myself in that, it matters. I will rely on peoples good and hope that outweighs the bad. ISRAEL!(May God Prevail !)
I have no support in here, for me it will be like being in a Muslim Country as a polar opposite, will I receive fair treatment? Only God knows? Do you live in a box? all you have to do is google Canon and it reveals all the different Canons held by Christian denominations. You are so angry . For me to post my canon would be fruitless. You are who you are and what you hold to is what you hold to. As I said, I have not gone beyond the little Canon you adhere to. So, your point? Oh and clearly not a Muslim I profess Christ (God) has come in the flesh. And that flesh was Incarnated through Mother Miryam. I do not deny the Incarnation do you?

LOL No. I was raised a Roman Catholic...Over the years since I left it. It's become the Romanist religion...No derogatory but more descriptive, in my ears. of the religion itself. No slam on you or your beliefs.
But as I said...Our mods are god folk. They will not burn you at the stake or stone you. IF you did something wrong, let them tell you about it. And ignore the nasty people who harass instead of teaching properly. Love is a thing that is reflected...Some people, though, have a finish that is too dull to reflect the light. If I'm right in my understanding, I know what the 'extra' books are and I'm confident that God can use it to your benefit.
