A discussion about believing you are born again

In your Gifts of the Holy Spirit, use your discernment. Can you feel the movement of the Holy Spirit within you? If you havent gotten to this level of discernment, then you need to exercise your gifts. Just like reading scripture, and prayer, using the gifts often is important.

Learn to recognize the movement of the Holy Spirit. Recognize the urging of the Holy Spirit.

It is very important for your future to know Gods peace in your heart.
John 3:7 You should not be surprised at my saying, 'You must be born again.'

Greetings @Bill

I have just spent time reading through this thread.

What you are writing makes no sense.

It seems that you are preaching 'another gospel'

I am going to temporarily close this thread for moderation.

It is important that we share the Truth at Talk Jesus Christ, many lost souls come here.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him,
How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit.
John 3:3-8

Greetings all,

Please post in peace and prayerfully.
The Christian life and all that we have from the Lord is not for competition nor for fighting or arguing over.

We are admonished to esteem other(s) better than ourselves and to love one another, in word and deed, to the glory and praise of God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Philippians 2:3

Bless you ....><>

There are many who are in heaven who never experienced hearing the Gospel preached to them. And there are some who even were preached to but didnt grasp it.

You see it was thier love that saved them. Christ was already there.

Some gave thier lives for others, some lived a full life, but always loved. When love from the heart is present, there is Christ to.

And this is why Paul states in scripture. The person whos heart is circumcised may not be praised by man, but he will be praised by God.

Your logic is not wrong. You just not seeing the full picture.

God finds good people after His heart. In the NT, He reveals Jesus to these 'good' people. Think about Matt 16:16-17. God revealed Jesus to Peter (Even though Jesus was standing in front of him). So we can argue born again in reverse. It makes more sense to do it this way too. IE If you are a good person, you will be born again / have faith to call Jesus Lord God.

There is simply no such thing as a good person who does not know Jesus. I do believe many death bed conversions take place. But one thing I am completely certain on. There will be nobody in hell who desires repentance at a level that would cause God to take notice / trust it's sincerity. God does not make mistakes.

From day 1, God has introduced Himself to the truly god fearing people on earth. In the NT He reveals Himself as Jesus. That is the only change. Any who have not met Jesus, have not met Jesus for a reason. Remember the bible says Jesus knocks on the doors to our hearts. God is no respecter of persons. If the gospel has not reached a good person.....God will knock him off his horse . God prefers to use us. He give us the opportunity to be used. But He can work without us. Let's not for one second think someone's eternal home is dependent on us converting them. We are privileged to be used of God.

There is a little confussion you have in reguards to Jesus. It isnt your fault, because us humans are a physical thing. We often look at Jesus as only the physical person. But Jesus is much more than physical. This was why so many followers had issues with the teachings of Christ.

When i say they did not know Jesus in thier mind. It was they had not knowledge of Him.

But in thier heart. They understood the love, the nature of God.Paul talks of this. "By the Law written in thier hearts"

The law is only written on our hearts when Jesus is in our hearts. IE We are born again.

What do you tell a good god fearing Muslim? Why must they convert to Christianity?

When i talk about God, i usually talk on the level i feel the Spirit wishes me to.

The phrase comes to mind. He shall not break the bending reed nor put out the wavering flame.

So it is with me. For i am not the One who does the converting. I am only the farmer. I do the work that is neccisary to be done. But as far as who causes the seed to grow, that is God.

The law is only written on our hearts when Jesus is in our hearts. IE We are born again.

This is just a thought that came to my mind.

The scripture states that the Holy Spirit inspired Mary to speak when she met Elizabeth. At that time, was Mary born again?

How can you compare before the cross with after the cross?

Blessings to you

Greetings Bill,
No offense in this statement but just because this thought came to your mind does not necessarily make it inspired of the Holy Spirit.

We are told to take Every Thought Captive . This means we are going to get lots of thoughts that are not of God.

Blessings to you

After the Cross this would be nonsense.
If you don't know Jesus , Rather if Jesus does not know you as being Re-Born - then nothing else matters.
Not love in your heart or knowing God's Laws will amount to anything when you stand before the Great Judge.

How about providing scripture that says love will save them without Christ.
Blessings to you

I don't agree with this at all.
I have known many people who would out shine many Christians in their love and caring for people.
They always did good and hated evil and felt that is why they would go to heaven.

Truth is, without Christ their goodness gets burned up with the hay and stubble .

There will be nobody in hell who desires repentance at a level that would cause God to take notice / trust it's sincerity. God does not make mistakes.

As long as this desire of repentance came before their natural death.

God finds good people after His heart. In the NT, He reveals Jesus to these 'good' people. Think about Matt 16:16-17. God revealed Jesus to Peter (Even though Jesus was standing in front of him). Mark 2:17
When Jesus heard it, he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

Your logic here simply does not line up with Scripture.

Blessings to you

You dont understand what i am saying. It is impossible to have love from the heart, and not have Christ within. Any man woman or child of any faith or no faith at all, who loves from the heart, Christ lives in them already.

It is for these that the scripture was written where Paul says. Those who do not know the Law, will be judged by the Law written in thier hearts.

Even as a Christain, you have to have Christ in your heart to enter heaven.

" No one can go to the Father, but threw me."

Hi Bill,
No sir , I do understand what you are saying.
Of any faith? No faith?
Who loves from the heart?
Christ lives in them ?

Brother this can not be, it is opposed to other Scriptures which makes it in error .

" No one can go to the Father, but threw me."

You do realize that you are placing scriptures together making them say things they are not.

Example your use of being judged by the law in their heart is off.

Random thoughts.

There is the inspired thoughts, and the inspired of darkness.

I would like to think i have a free will with my own. Not like we are just robots. But we do choices and thoughts all the time. Curiosity, choices, a whole host of random thoughts.

I have to believe God wants us to love Him with our free will, and not because we have to.

You will have to forgive me, big fingers little letters to type on phone. Lol. When i hit a letter, im still amazed it is only the letter i want, most of the time.

There is a lot of scripture that supports my words.

At the moment, my Bible sits in the truck at the repare shop.

And as our world drifts away from Christ, no bibles in motel rooms anymore.

------------------------------------

Do you remember the way you thought when you first became Christian. You read the scripture a certain way.

Now that you have been a Christian for a while. Can you see how you have matured?

I sure do understand that. As the phones get smarter, the keys get smaller.

I will check out the Bible app I have on my phone in which I don't have service on at the moment.
It's small in size as far as storage but you can add so many different versions to it which aids in study .

It's my go to choice anymore. It beats 3 or 4 bibles sitting on my lap. Lol.
I would not be without it. I always have God's word with me.

Oh my for sure. It's funny you mentioned this. I was just noticing how further along God has brought me in many areas since this time last year.

No matter how much we think we know, there is so much more that we don't yet know.

P.S I hope you like the video I posted for you in your Sunday thread.
Blessings to you

The smart phone. Yes, i havent figured out how to switch when im typing then go read a verse and come back without loosing what i just typed. Or like when my wife calls. If i answer, anything i type is lost.

I want to compliment you and those at this sight. To be honest, i am floored. It was strong on my mind (this is how i know the difference between the movement of the Holy Spirit, and my own thoughts. When it is the Holy Spirit, first, the urging can be very quiet, but there is always Gods peace in my heart. And also the very strong movement, but as always Gods peace in my heart) to write about Mike.

I was floored you didnt challenge what i wrote. My conversations with God and so on. The other Christian websight i was on, everything was a challenge.

The truck video. I kept thinking, ok. Maybe there is something religious at the end. Oh man was i wrong.

I used to drive a Peterbuilt, but once introduced to a Kenworth, never go back. As a tall guy 6'4" the Kenworth has a ton of leg room.

My present dashboard is almost the same. Wood grain with all the chrome dials. I haul oversize loads for a living.

It is not a belief, it is a fact. And all within the scripture to.

Why didnt you quote what Paul stated in the scripture.

Here let me say it again.

For those who know the Law, they will be judged by the Law. And for those who do not know the Law, they will be judged by the Law written in thier heart.

It is true that Jesus said no one can go to the Father but by me (in some translations, "through me"). In both cases. There are many Christians that only see this as a physical thing. A matter of physically knowing who Christ is. But God is more than a physical being, and God is more than a spiritual being, (God created both). So to only think of Jesus in the physical is limiting God.

When Jesus says no one can go to the Father but by me, or through me. He is saying Christ must be in your heart. God who is Love. Jesus who is Love. You must have Love in your heart.

Look at Satan. The one thing that he rejected was God, he rejected Love
Good words here my friend! God is always looking at people's hearts. We consider the following words of Jesus:

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?" John 11:25-26

I do not believe a person must know the name, J.E.S.U.S., in order to believe in Him. They are to believe in what Jesus is, and many who know his name, still do not really know who He is. This is especially true for people living in countries with little or no access to Bibles or to computers. We must use what we have been given and God judges accordingly. Some U.S. citizens in particular may come up short with God because they had so much in education, time, money, housing, etc. and yet they wasted so much of what they had on the foolishness of men rather putting a bit more on God's side of the balance. After all that we have came from God. Recall what David said about himself and his people:

"But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee."I Chron 29:14

And then combine that with Jesus's words here:

"But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more." Luke 12:48

Jesus came and was throughout His short span of years here quite selfless. To be like Jesus we must move from the selfishness in ourselves to the selflessness He manifested as a man. This is God's desire, but many who bear the label Christian remain very selfish. Me and mine first, and then if some crumbs remain perhaps some for others who are in desperate need.

My friend, all of mankind are Gods children. We are given the free will to do right or wrong in measure.

Being a Christain only sets us apart in the sense that we are chosen to be stuarts to the rest of mankind. To be like Christ is to become the suffering servant while on earth. Our reward should not be sought here, but with God.

There was a reason i asked about you as a new Christian versus now.

The way you believe now will change in time. And the way you read scripture now, those same verses will have a different meaning later.

God understands that it takes time to grow in him. It would be foolish of me to think everyone thinks like i do.

My task here, to share, to teach to learn, and plainly have a little fun.
