Why does Mary have such a bad-sounding name?

Why did Jacob have a name meaning "supplanter" or "deceiver" or "heel holder"? That is what he was, but God gave Jacob the man a new name, Israel, whichn means "God prevails, to which Jacob was very slow to live up to...
We do have something available that Jacob did not have.

Most likely referring to Mary's heart that would be "pierced" at the death of her Son Jesus.
Luk 2:34 And Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is appointed for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign that is opposed
Luk 2:35 (and a sword will pierce through your own soul also), so that thoughts from many hearts may be revealed."
I can not think of anything more "bitter" than at the death of ones own child.
