Jesus is not the Holy Spirit

[B-A-C, post: 249134, member: 16754"]Just curious, why do you think they are called the "trinity"?[/QUOTE]

Hey BAC I got a better question than that. See if you can answer this question. Show me the verse in the bible that says they are a trinity? Without changing or adding to it or taking away from it.
Trinity is a man made doctrine made up to try and explain God.

Matt 1:23; "BEHOLD, THE VIRGIN SHALL BE WITH CHILD AND SHALL BEAR A SON, AND THEY SHALL CALL HIS NAME IMMANUEL," which translated means, "GOD WITH US."

Isa 9:6; For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.

John 1:1; In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
John 1:2; He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:3; All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being.
John 1:14; And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Nothing here says anything about
a trinity. Maybe if you look for a verse that says there is three person's.

I believe the first and greatest commandment.

Matthew 22
36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Mark 12
28 And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? 29 And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this [is] the first commandment. 31 And the second [is] like, [namely] this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

The greatest commandment is not, "Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord." That is just the preface to it. Matthew 22 omits that part, which tells us that the greatest commandment is, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.."

It is interesting how later in Mark 12, Jesus said this though:

Mark 12
35 And Jesus answered and said, while he taught in the temple, How say the scribes that Christ is the Son of David? 36 For David himself said by the Holy Ghost, The LORD said to my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. 37 David therefore himself calleth him Lord; and whence is he [then] his son? And the common people heard him gladly.

The LORD (one person) said to my Lord (another person), Sit on my right hand, till I make thine enemies thy footstool. The bible is not trying to trick us when it uses this kind of language. There are really two persons interacting with each other here in these verses, as well as in other places

Travis you seem to think scripture
in matthew takes away from scripture in mark. I think the word always gives more detail, but never takes away . And it is written that hearing, they would hear not, and seeing they would see not, till they have his Spirit, then the veil will be taken away. Cause no man understands the things of God , but only the Spirit of God.

The rapture is biblical. The trinity is biblical. Just because the "words" are not there doesn't mean anything. Don't spread false doctrine on this site.

Read these. The "verses" are there:

How about an awesome audio sermon by Charles Stanley? Highly reputable preacher for the past 4+ decades? I've been listening to his podcast sermons every day for the past 4 years and he has never fallen short the truth of the Word of GOD on any subject. And he believes and preaches both Trinity (3 persons, One GOD) and Rapture (Pre-tribulation).

God is Spirit and there are seven Spirits of God. Jesus was God in the flesh; spirits confess did Jesus Christ come in the flesh? Jesus is the example God sent forth, in which we are to pick up our cross and follow Him. Through Jesus, God has given us the same power to become the sons and daughters of God.

I wasn't suggesting that it takes away from Mark one bit, only that it clarifies. It clarifies that the greatest commandment is simply: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." Anything before that is just prefacing the greatest commandment.
