Jesus is not the Holy Spirit

Jesus is the way to the Father ( John 14:6; )
Jesus is the doorway or gate to the Father ( John 10:7; )
Jesus is our advocate to the Father ( 1 Jn 2:1; )
Jesus is our high priest ( Heb 2:17; Heb 3:1; Heb 4:14-15; )
Jesus is the Son of man ( over 80 times in the NT) the Holy Spirit and the Father are never called the Son (especially the Son of Man).
Jesus is our mediator between men and the Father ( Gal 3:19-20; 1 Tim 2:5; Heb 8:6; Heb 9:15; Heb 12:24; )
Jesus taught the disciples to pray to the Father ( Matt 6:9; Luke 11:2; ) However we are ask for things in Jesus name. ( John 14:13-14; John 15:16; John 16:23-26; )
Jesus took away our sins ( John 1:29; 1 Pet 2:24; )

But wait.... What about this passage:

2nd Corinthians 3
4 But their minds were hardened. For to this day, when they read the old covenant, that same veil remains unlifted, because only through Christ is it taken away. 15 Yes, to this day whenever Moses is read a veil lies over their hearts. 16 But when one turns to the Lord, the veil is removed. 17 Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.

Isn't that saying that the Lord is the Spirit?

Isn't Jesus Christ Lord?

Travis

There is a Spirit of Christ, but it's still a different from the Holy Spirit.

We can even be baptized into Christ, but still not baptized into the Holy Spirit.
Also the phrase "the LORD" is mentioned over 6,400 times in the Old Testament. The LORD usually means God, and no one disputing that Jesus is God.
But God isn't only Jesus.

Wait so.... the Spirit of the Lord is not the Holy Spirit?

I thought I had heard it all but this being baptised into Jesus is not enough, you have to also be baptised separately into the Holy Spirit.
Good luck Travis!

Wait so.... the Spirit of the Lord is not the Holy Spirit?

Not always, For example...

Rom 8:11; But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.

Did Jesus raise Jesus from the dead, or did the Father raise Jesus from the dead?

Acts 10:44; While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.
Acts 10:45; All the circumcised believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out on the Gentiles also.
Acts 10:46; For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God. Then Peter answered,
Acts 10:47; "Surely no one can refuse the water for these to be baptized who have received the Holy Spirit just as we did, can he?"
Acts 10:48; And he ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked him to stay on for a few days

Why would they need to be baptized twice if it was the same thing?

Did Jesus raise Jesus from the dead, or did the Father raise Jesus from the dead?
Yes,

Christ:

John 2
19 Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

John 10
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

And the Father:

Ephesians 1
17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: 18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, 19 And what [is] the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, 20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set [him] at his own right hand in the heavenly [places],

And, don't forget the Holy Spirit:

1 Peter 3
18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

I missed that one,,,I guess Jesus raised Jesus.....hmmm...another scripture that says Jesus is God. I like it, thank you , Travis!

Having different jobs has nothing to do with it!

Well, it does have a lot to do with it when you're trying to explain the Holy Trinity. The Father is the creator, Jesus is the intercessor and the Holy Spirit is the comforter. They are all inside the deity of God.

And, since you are so intent on separating their functions, it was Jesus who was the creator..... I would quote the scripture but I have already done that about Jesus being God and Father but apparently you choose to ignore scripture anyway.

Jesus is not the Father. Jesus has the same character and deity as the Father, but they are two separate persons. The Holy Trinity consists of three separate persons inside one God deity. Please post scripture to help me understand your side.

your comparison of me and my dad is a very poor analogy regarding God.

Why is it a poor analogy?

I think you are stuck in the physical world and know nothing of the spirit world.

Why do you say that?

1. First of all you can't explain The Holy Trinity, it is spiritual and another of God's mysteries. The original discussion with was B-A-C denial that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are the same. His point was that Jesus is God, the Holy Spirit is God but Holy Spirit is not Jesus. If jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God, then how can you possibly say that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not the same, God?
2. Jesus is the creator!!!
John1 1: 1-3...The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.
My Bibles say that these scriptures are about the Word becoming flesh. These scriptures clearly show that the Word created everything and that the word is Jesus...how can you say anything else ?

One more time: Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Hmm:
1. The child is Jesus
2.Jesus is called the Counselor ( who else in scripture is refered to as the "Counselor" ? The Holy spirit!), ( Jesus is the Holy Spirit)
3. Jesus is "Mighty God" ( they do have different roles but yet they are both God)
4. "Everlasting Father" ( though they are refered to God the Father, God the son and God the Holy Spirit, God and Jesus are one in the same, "The Father")
Why is it a poor analogy?
THough we may have had or have the Holy Spirit living in us, My Dad and I were/are physical beings in a physical, carnal world. To compare my relationship between my Dad and I ( physical beings) with the Jesus and God (spiritual beings) is ludicrous, they can't be compared.
Why is it a poor analogy?
If you do not even know that there is a total difference bewteen the physical and spiritual realms, I certainly can't help you.

If jesus is God and the Holy Spirit is God, then how can you possibly say that Jesus and the Holy Spirit are not the same, God?

Because there not the same as in, they have different roles. Creator/Intercessor/Comforter. They are the same in deity, but not in roles. Do you agree that the Trinity is made of three different persons?

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

But without the power of the Father there is no creation or creator. How do you think Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead. How do you think the Father raised Jesus from the dead. POWER. For example, Jesus didn't raise himself from the dead. Another example is, the only way to the Father is through his Son. Scripture is not saying the only way to the Father is through the Father, no. The origin of life comes from the Father and his power to create.

One more time: Isaiah 9:6

Isaiah 9:6 isn't referring to the Holy Trinity or the Godhead. If the term "Father," applied to our Lord we must remember that the distinction of Persons in the Godhead had not yet been revealed. And also, Mighty God is just referring to his deity.

Though we may have had or have the Holy Spirit living in us, My Dad and I were/are physical beings in a physical, carnal world.

I know that. I was simply explaining how you and your dad have different roles in life but are of the same bloodline. The Father and Jesus are of the same deity, but have different roles in life.

If you do not even know that there is a total difference bewteen the physical and spiritual realms, I certainly can't help you.
God's Blessings

But you're judging someone you don't even know. You don't know my testimony.

But you're judging someone you don't even know. You don't know my testimony.
I am not judging you but I am judging your testimony because you have been giving me plenty of it.
You have plenty of testimony but no scripture to back you up.
I just happens that I disagree with you and your only weak response you have left is to call me judgemental.

No, I'm referring to my testimony of salvation.

I mean..... I don't think all of this is a really big deal, not worth getting super upset over anyway. At the end of the day, the Trinity is a mystery, no one understands how God is three and one at the same time as they should. I don't know if we will ever fully understand it. I'm OK with that to an extent.

Just curious, why do you think they are called the "trinity"?
