Should Christians own weapons?

Not open for further replies.
What about the day when civilians can't own guns are you being a Christians going to obey the words of God

Hebrews 13:17 (KJV)
Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

Which is a higher authority the US constitution or the word of God

Isaiah 55:8-9 (KJV)
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord . [9] For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Actually Paul nor Jesus carried a weapon

Peter did and where did it get him?

Matthew 22:37-38 (KJV)
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. [38] This is the first and great commandment.

It's not wise to build doctrines with things that aren't in the text. When Peter used his sword against the slave Malkus, Jesus said, "Put your sword away." He didn't say, "Get rid of that sword."

The simple truth is there is no prohibition to defending one's family, or any vulnerable person, from random, wanton violence. For example, if a woman was walking down the street and someone tried to snatch one of her children, she should fight to protect that vulnerable child, not offer her second one up as well. The Lord gave us will to live for a reason.

Now if anyone comes to your door looking to gather the "Christians," you go willingly and trust in the Lord.

We are told to obey them that have rule over us! This NT has been around for 2000 years how does Paul words in Hebrews 13 fir with what happened in the 1700 with George Washington

Jesus told him to put up his sword Peter did not need it. Peter was with the creator of heaven and earth and all that dwells therein!

Again if the mother had her children grabbed by someone, tell me how does this apply to the incident?

Why is evil coming to this Christians woman and her family?
Amos 3:6 (KJV)
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it ?

For a Christian the Lord said vengeance is mine he will repay

why do a Christian need a weapon when The Lord is gonna repay

Your way off. Ok, tell me. What SHOULD that woman do if someone kidnaps her child?

Let's see how Scriptural your response will be.

If you see someone attacking your elderly mother, do you stand there and think "the Lord will repay"?

Call the police!

what is the rule of the land?

call the police

what if there are 3 people taking the child? What if there weapons are more powerful than hers? What if they get the best of her where she can fight back?

why is evil coming from God her way anyway? Answer that? Please!

1 Timothy 2:1-4 (KJV)
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; [2] For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. [3] For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; [4] Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

It's not gonna happen

but we are to live quiet and peaceably with all men!

Proverbs 29:2 (KJV)
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Is stealing evil, is rape evil , is dishonoring the elderly evil? Yes it is. Where does evil come from?
God!
he created evil

Isaiah 45:6-7
That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the Lord , and there is none else.

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things .

He brings the evil

Amos 3:6 (KJV)
Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the Lord hath not done it ?

The thief or kidnapper
Exodus 20:15 (KJV)
Thou shalt not steal.

The disrespect of the elderly
Exodus 20:12 (KJV)
Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.

The killer
Exodus 20:13 (KJV)
Thou shalt not kill.

A evil spirit from the Lord coming Upon a person

1 Samuel 16:14 (KJV)
But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord troubled him.

Judges 9:23 (KJV)
Then God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem; and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech:

Acts 19:13-16 (KJV)
Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. [14] And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. [15] And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye? [16] And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

The Lord sends evil spirits upon a nation

Psalm 78:43-44,46-47,49 (KJV)
How he had wrought his signs in Egypt, and his wonders in the field of Zoan: [44] And had turned their rivers into blood; and their floods, that they could not drink. [46] He gave also their increase unto the caterpiller, and their labour unto the locust. [47] He destroyed their vines with hail, and their sycomore trees with frost. [49] He cast upon them the fierceness of his anger, wrath, and indignation, and trouble, by sending evil angels among them .

Now I ask again what can our weapons really do when The Lord send a evil spirit upon his servant for whatever reason?

what?

What could Job have done other than pray!

Galatians 1:3-4 (KJV)
Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, [4] Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

Who are we fighting against the thief or liar or killer in front of us?
No

We fight against satan who influence these people to do these acts against us

Ephesians 6:12 (KJV)
For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places .

Satan is a spirit which is called angel

Let me ask this, who is satan looking for in the verse below?

1 Peter 5:8 (KJV)
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

If President Washington and His voluntary army had no weapons and the private citizen as well had none then the USA would not have came into being. At one time back then God was the ruler and leader of this country.

Are we talking about the metal sword or the word of God I ask because of this verse, read it all but keep in mind that he is talking to his disciples also

Matthew 10:16-17 (KJV)
Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves. [17] But beware of men: for they will deliver you up to the councils, and they will scourge you in their synagogues;

can you be harmless as a dove with a sword. Which is it a sword weapon or harmless as a dove?

God sets up kingdom and know this that satan owns all the kingdoms on earth

Luke 4:5-6 (KJV)
And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. [6] And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

yes the USA belongs to satan also!

i hope I don't in trouble for saying it or copying a d pasting it!
