Your Salvation Is Secure

John 6:35-40 35 And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst. 36 But I said to you that you have seen Me and yet do not believe. 37 All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out. 38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. 39 This is the will of the Father who sent Me, that of all He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up at the last day. 40 And this is the will of Him who sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him may have everlasting life; and I will raise him up at the last day.”

  • You will never hunger
  • You will never thirst
  • Jesus won't cast you out
  • Jesus does the will of the father
  • God wills Jesus not to loose you
  • God wills Jesus to raise you up on your last day
  • What more do you need?

I do not believe this is a one-and-done thing. Our free will is in effect 24 hours a day, 7 days per week; the enemy's skill at tempting us is also a 24/7 thing. I keep my guard up by renewing my commitment to Christ often.

  • I think one of the fruits of the Holy Spirit in us is a continued draw to a repentant heart.
  • What then is your interpretation of John 6:35-40? Just what do you think it means that Jesus will stay in the will of the Father. What does it say here that is the will of the father? So, Jesus is capable of falling short of the Father's will?
  • How would you define 1 Corinthians 1:7-8 ?
  • So, whoever calls upoun the name of the Lord will be saved. How is it that you can personally "Fall Away" from a God who promises to never leave you and be there with at your end?
  • So, it is up to you to maintain your salvation?
