O God, you know my folly; the wrongs I have done are not hidden from you. Let not those who hope in you be put to shame through me, O Lord GOD of hosts; let not those who seek you be brought to dishonor through me, O God of Israel. Psalm 69:5-6 ESV
The choices you make today can either harm or benefit those who place their hope in God. Just as your failures or self-serving decisions may make it easier for some to fall away from God, your obedience and faithfulness will inspire others to draw near to Him. Psalm 69 brings to mind the image of the body of Christ, where each person is joined to the others and bears a responsibility for the benefit of others.
The Lord is well aware of your follies and wrongs, and yet there remains an offer of grace and mercy for you. God has not cast you away but has sent Jesus to restore you. God’s honor and glory are preserved through grace and mercy, through the offer to give you a chance to live by faith the life Jesus offered those whose hearts are committed to Him.
Prayer: Lord, help me to see the ways my actions can benefit others so that I can live my life to bless them and to draw glory and honor to You. Give me a heart of obedience and commitment to You.
