And always give God the glory for bringing us to where He wants us to be!
God's judgement is stayed because of the righteous in a dead Church though they be few!!!
Would you mind supplying a scripture that supports this?
My understanding is that God's judgment is stayed, for now, because he is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance:
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 2 Pet. 3:9 ESV
Or, for this reason:
They cried out with a loud voice, “O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been. Rev. 6:10-11 ESV
The Church will not go through the great tribulation as they will have been raptured before that time. Those who are left will have to die for what they believe if they want to be saved, and their death will not be by the hand of God.
The Lord would not destroy Sodom, and Gomorrah until Lot and his family were gone from there. It just so happens that Lot had ten people in his family.
Gen 18:25 That be far from thee to do after this manner, to slay the righteous with the wicked: and that the righteous should be as the wicked, that be far from thee: Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right?
Gen 18:26 And the LORD said, If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare all the place for their sakes.
Gen 18:32 Then he said, “Oh let not the Lord be angry, and I will speak again but this once. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”
- 1 - Lot
- 1 - His wife ( who was turned into pillar of salt)
- 2 - sons-in-law (Gen 19 v.14) ie plural - [this means he had at least 2 married daughters]
- 2 - married daughters
- 2 unmarried daughters (Gen 19 v.15) -1 became mother of Moabites
- 2 sons (Gen 19v.12) ie plural so at least 2
We also see this in the parable of the Wheat, and tares, were the wheat is referring to the children of the righteous, and the tares as the children of the wicked. both of them grow together, until the Lord sends out his angels to gather his wheat into his barn, and the tares gathered to together to be burned at a later time.That is what God did in that particular situation, but where does it say that this is why he is now delaying his judgment on the earth?
The Lord will not bring his judgement upon this earth until the righteous have gone. God's mercy on the earth is now as you have already mentioned because he is not willing that any should perish. That can not happen unless there is someone to proclaim the Gospel to. Once the Church is gone, judgement will come.That is what God did in that particular situation, but where does it say that this is why he is now delaying his judgment on the earth?
That is what God did in that particular situation, but where does it say that this is why he is now delaying his judgment on the earth?
Actually you contradicted yourself because the bible says the weeds are gathered FIRST and then the wheat is gathered into the barn, why did you reverse it? Do you actually do any gardening? Nobody harvests and then weeds. We weed first and then we harvest.We also see this in the parable of the Wheat, and tares, were the wheat is referring to the children of the righteous, and the tares as the children of the wicked. both of them grow together, until the Lord sends out his angels to gather his wheat into his barn, and the tares gathered to together to be burned at a later time.
Mat 13:24 He put another parable before them, saying, “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field,
Mat 13:25 but while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat and went away.
Mat 13:26 So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared also.
Mat 13:27 And the servants of the master of the house came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have weeds?’
Mat 13:28 He said to them, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So the servants said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’
Mat 13:29 But he said, ‘No, lest in gathering the weeds you root up the wheat along with them.
Mat 13:30 Let both grow together until the harvest, and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, “Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.”’ (ESV)
Mat 13:36 Then Jesus sent the multitude away, and went into the house: and his disciples came unto him, saying, Declare unto us the parable of the tares of the field.
Mat 13:37 He answered and said unto them, He that soweth the good seed is the Son of man;
Mat 13:38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;
Mat 13:39 The enemy that sowed them is the devil; the harvest is the end of the world; and the reapers are the angels.
Mat 13:40 As therefore the tares are gathered and burned in the fire; so shall it be in the end of this world.
What do you suppose would be the meaning of "gather the wheat into my barn" ? What would be the meaning, "Gather the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned"
Gathering the wheat and putting it into God's barn would refer to the catching away of the Church, and then the tares are gathered together to be burned at a latter time. (at the end of the world)
