Made Alive in Christ
Ephesians 2:8-9
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

Many Christians struggle with their faith. One of the reasons is they take this walk personally and try to do it themselves. It is impossible for us to live the Christian life but, rather we can ever increasingly let Jesus live it through us.

Amen Joe, anything outside of Jesus manifesting His righteousness is simple self-righteousness and amounts to filthy rags.

Amen x 10!

What is lacking today is not a better living but a better dying. We need to die a good death, a thorough death.

I think that one of the reasons many believers struggle with faith is that they do not try to grow in knowledge of God through the work of the Holy Spirit. Thus, they have no concept of how BIG God is; of the magnitude of His power and love. As a result, they end up trying to go it alone.

I've been striving to stay open to the Spirit for quite a few years and, as a result, I've received some insights that I never would have experienced otherwise. For instance, several months ago, I was thinking about the "Back To The Future" movie trilogy of a few years ago and the scenes from the future depicting how things would be if one of the characters in the present had never existed. I was hit with the realization, that if God should stop will-ing my existance (which He will not do because He does not violate His own plans), I wouldn't just die, all traces of my existance would disappear.

This shows me that His creation - and my existence - are products of His omnipotent power and His desire to share His awesome love (1 Jn 4:8). How cool is that?!!! Revelations like that put a huge charge in my faith.
