The heavens [are] Yours, the earth also [is] Yours; The world and all its fullness, You have founded them. The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon rejoice in Your name. Psalm 89:11-12
The writer of this psalm stepped outside for reminders of God's presence and power. The mountains, Tabor and Herman, were major geographical points in the land of Israel, regularly serving as locations to worship the Lord and providing some of the most stunning reminders of God's power: from the highest point in the heavens to the lowest valley, God is present everywhere.
Where should you start with your awareness of God today? This psalm makes it quite simple: step outside. There are mountains, streams, fields, flowers, sunrises, and sunsets that serve as reminders of God's care for you and for all of creation. Perhaps you're struggling to experience God in creation because you aren't expecting to find Him there.
Would it change how you take walks. Or approach prayer if you remembered that every single rock, flower, blade of grass, and splash of water has been created and maintained by God's loving creativity?
There are songs and shouts of praise in creation that are resounding just for God. You have an invitation to step outside and join in.
Prayer: Lord, may I see Your presence and love around me today.
