And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, "Abba, Father." Now you are no longer a slave but God's own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. Galatians 4:6-7 NLT
In the scripture passage above, Paul called you as a Christian “God’s own child” and His “heir.” He also wrote that being God’s child gives you the privilege of calling out to Him using the highly personal title “Abba, Father.”
Jesus gave voice to the depth of a perfect heavenly Father’s love for you as His child when He said, “If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask him!” (Matthew 7:11).
Some men grew up without good fathers, and that makes it difficult for them to think of God as a loving heavenly Father. But when God sends His Spirit into our hearts, He gives us the ability to know Him as a God who so loves us that we believe with everything within us that He has given us His kingdom, that He wants to spend time with us, and that He wants to give us all good things.
Prayer: Thank You, Father, for making me Your own child and an heir to the good things You have for me.
