Yikes another rapture thread!

You don't care what Jesus had to say? IF you don't believe His Words are important what is it you believe in?
I already told you I am a believer, I therefore have faith in him, what ever and when ever He does ANYTHING is fine with me....I am ready, ARE YOU?!

the rapture is not generally what is in question, it is the timing of he rapture that people can not agree on. As Ray posted in Mathew 24 Jesus says he will send out his angels to gather up his elect. Now this is when I believe the rapture will occur at the end of tribulation. just like it says. Many will disagree with this and say that Mathew 24 is about the second coming of Jesus and not the rapture.

From what I have seen most here (not all) hold to the pre trib rapture theory that the church will be removed from the earth before the tribulation occurs. I do not hold to this teaching

Matt 24:30; "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.

Matt 24:31; "And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.
The timing. Yup. Rapture requires that first there is resurrection. Jesus plainly and repeatedly told us when the resurrection would come to pass.

Matt 24:30; "And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
This would be Jesus' second coming as in this scripture it says "all the tribes of the earth will mourn and they will see..."

In the "rapture" the tribes of the earth will not see his coming for his Church.

Please try to keep near the topic:

For those who follow the popular rapture teachings I'm asking for your favorite quotes from Jesus Christ in support.

Jesus said.......

Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

To "watch" is to "observe over a period of time." You can not pray without watching as they go hand in hand.

And this mentions 'rapture' where ?

No one can keep to popular rapture theories and care much about what Jesus actually said .

If you do not believe in what the writers of the scriptures have said then you do not believe in what Jesus has said because that's is where they received it from! Jesus NEVER wrote anything down himself.

Ok so show me where Jesus talks about the rapture. Thats what this thread is for. I can show you Jesus saying quite the opposite of rapture. . I doubt you have ever searched out support from Jesus' own quotes .

You could get the impression from some Christian people that God is unable to keep his people safe in times of trouble.

Luk 21:34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.
Luk 21:35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.
Luk 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Verse 35 says there is something coming on ALL them who dwell on the earth.
verse 36 says to watch and pray that you be accounted worthy to "escape" all these things......
Do you know what the word "escape" means?

To flee out of a place, to go from one place to another. Where can someone go to where they stand before the Son of man? Hint, its not on this earth.

Tell me what you think it means in light of a quote from Jesus Christ;

13 And now come I to thee; and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves.

14 I have given them thy word; and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world.

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

21 That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.
Do you think Jesus prayed in accord with the will of the Father?

I wonder why and how running to the hills of Judah would be wise?
Could following this most godly advice be considered 'escape'?

Not if it is coming upon the whole earth. Besides "escaping" to stand before the Son of man would not be here on earth.

John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

Mat 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Why would Jesus pray to his father to take us out of this world? Then who would preach the Gospel to all nations?
The Gospel must first be preached and then the end will come.

Interesting why do you suppose the Lord would give such useless advice ?

This is from the chapter you chose in support , somebody seems to have the wrong idea , I dont thinks its Jesus:

Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto.

22For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.

23But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.

Jesus may have well as told them to go pick apples, or And I'll bet, this is perfect advice , and cant be separated from 24-28. But you can try.
