Actually, I was referring to your title of your thread for which you seemed to derive the scripture passage in the OP as inferring where the king had addressed the "friend" & judged him as to where he and others like him are going, but it is not hell as the place of the afterlife, but outer darkness from His kingdom of light in Heaven where the Marriage Supper will be held at the rapture event.
So the passage you had quoted is towards the intended audience of saved believers that either have gone astray religiously, looking to works of man for justification which in turn voids faith in Him that they are saved simply for having believed in Him for why they are not wearing their wedding garments or they may be supernaturally engaged in iniquity that denies Him Titus 1:16 like believing they can receive the Holy Spirit by a sign at their salvation or "again" apart from salvation 1 Timothy 4:1-2 & 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 & 1 Corinthians 11:1-4 thus becoming an adulterous generation per Mathew 12:39-40 in departing from faith 2 Corinthians 13:5 for why they are naked of their wedding garments in that way too.
1“But when the king came in to look over the
[f]dinner guests, he saw a man there who was not dressed in wedding clothes,
12and he *said to him, ‘Friend, how did you get in here without
wedding clothes?’ And the man was speechless.
13Then the king said to the servants, ‘Tie his hands and feet, and
throw him into the outer darkness; there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth in that place.’
14For many are
[g]called, but few
are chosen.”
If you consider that the "friend" cannot be an unbeliever but a believer in order for him to be there, let alone invited, then the friend was lacking something that he had which was his wedding garment otherwise the king would not have asked where it was when he had one. So I believe this is towards the intended audience of believers for that to be your whale, and the consequence is not hell the after life, but hell as Gehenna on earth when they get denied by Him & left behind.
Many are called, but few are chosen is indicative for why God will judge His House first in 1 Peter 4:17 & excommunicate those saved believers not found abiding in Him as His disciples, but keeping their souls regardless 1 Peter 4:19.
1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
So the friend cast out into outer darkness is done for him to suffer in according to the will of God for not being ready for the Marriage Supper in Heaven. They will get a measure of stripes by how they were not ready.
Luke 12:40
Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.
41 Then Peter said unto him, Lord, speakest thou this parable unto us, or even to all?
42 And the Lord said, Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his lord shall make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of meat in due season?
43 Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
44 Of a truth I say unto you, that he will make him ruler over all that he hath.
45 But and if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and shall begin to beat the menservants and maidens, and to eat and drink, and to be drunken;
46 The lord of that servant will come in a day when he looketh not for him, and at an hour when he is not aware, and will cut him in sunder, and will appoint him his portion with the unbelievers.
47 And that servant, which knew his lord's will, and prepared not himself, neither did according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes.
48 But he that knew not, and did commit things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required: and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more.
49 I am come to send fire on the earth; and what will I, if it be already kindled?
Make no mistake, that those saints and former believer left behind will be scourged well enough so they can be received into His holiness, albeit their spirits will be with the Lord in Heaven awaiting their resurrection after great tribulation as vessels unto dishonor in His House, the vessels of wood & earth to serve the King of kings on earth. So there is a consequence for not running that race as His disciple and it onvolves more than a loss of the reqards of crowns but becoming a castaway also.
1 Corinthians 9:24
Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things
. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.
26 I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:
27 But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
Hebrews 12:1Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses,
let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.
9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.
11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Not very many saved believers know they can look to Jesus Christ daily trusting Him as their Good Shepherd to help them lay aside every weight & sin in running that race in walking in the light in fellowship with the Father & the Son.
This is why we are to warn saved believers to be ready or else they will be the "friend" without their wedding garments that will be cast out into outer darkness as castaways at the rapture event when God judges His House first.
So you got the harpoon, but the whales are closer than you think in this regard.
