Working on Sunday/Saturday; Working at night.

1st question: Is it okay for us to work on Sunday/Saturday whichever is considered sabbath? Guess that's sort of 2 questions in one. I know Jesus asks if one of our sheep fell into the ditch would we not go rescue it (something like that) but Jesus also took the stuff people were selling in the church on the sabbath and FLIPPED it all over telling them to leave! So can ya'll see my confusion? xD

2nd question: Is working at night against God? It seems alot of times in the Bible God speaks to wanting us inside when it's dark, because evil is easier in the dark where no one can see. But we are to fear no one.... gaaah I'm confused family. =( Even Jesus says people who are bad hide in the night or something like that.

The reason I'm asking this, not only to please God, but I am turning 21 very soon, and I have a trucking company that wants me to work for them. But that would envolve both of the above.​

There has always been such confusion about the Sabbath. I personally keep the Jewish Sabbath that Jesus kept in the Bible-from Friday at sunset to Saturday at Sunset.

I do it because there is nowhere in the Bible that tells us specifically NOT to keep it, and there is also nowhere that tells us that if the 10 Commandments of God (which is different than the Law of Moses, with all the ordinances that no one could keep) are done away with, than that means that if we don't have to keep the Sabbath, then it's also Ok to kill, steal, worship other gods, etc....and we know that is sure wrong!

There is nowhere in the Bible that says that 1 of the 10 commandments was done away with, but it's Ok to break the others. So it would seem that we are still supposed to rest on the Sabbath, just like we are not supposed to kill, steal, etc. (keep the other commandments of God). It's confused me, and I do keep it, but I don't take it to the extreme-I just don't work on that day, and try not to do my own thing-I try to spend as much time as I can with God on that day, in other words.

I'm not overly conscientious about it though...I mean, I told my job that I won't work during that time, but at the same time, if I'm at home and that's the only time during the week that I have to mow my yard, then I do it. I just don't "work for money" or anything. If a neighbor needs help with something, I will help them.

The point is to rest on that day. But pray about it and see where the Holy Spirit leads you, and how He answers you. God bless!

But then does that make a police officer who responds to crime and works at night a sinner because of him working then? He's getting paid for it... AND doing good. Or what about a firefighter who goes to put out a fire and saves an entire family at night during the sabbath. What does God see then?

Hahaha you have to love the LORD, as I'm sitting here writing the above, I begin to stress out... and I get a rush of calm and Jesus tells me to not worry. He is so wonderful...

Wow,we need to tread carefully here.
Romans 14:5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let each man be fully assured in his own mind

We are no longer under the letter of the law but we now do everything out of the law of love.
The Sabbath day was a replacement for something that Israel had
rejected in the wilderness.It was called Sabbath rest.

Heb 3:17 And with whom was he angry for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose bodies fell in the desert?
Heb 3:18 And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?
Heb 3:19 So we see that because of their unbelief they were not able to enter his rest.
Heb 4:1 Therefore, since the promise of entering his rest still stands, let us be careful that none of you be found to have fallen short of it.
Heb 4:2 For we also have had the gospel preached to us, just as they did; but the message they heard was of no value to them, because those who heard did not combine it with faith.

Jesus summed up the law this way

Mat 22:37 Jesus replied, "'You must love the LORD your God with all your heart, all your soul, and all your mind
Mat 22:38 This is the great and foremost commandment.
Mat 22:39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

The Sabbath devoted one day of the week to God.
Christ is the "Day",through him we can enter the Sabbath rest that Israel rejected.

The law can NOT make you love someone.The law says"if you can't love at least do as little damage to the innocent as possible"
If love is to hard for you then you NEED the law.

Transgression of the law called for a sacrifice.
Mat 12:7 If you had known what these words mean, 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice,' you would not have condemned the innocent.

We are called as a "living sacrifice" to administer LOVE and MERCY.
Not to create new obstacles to the poor and needy.
How does working on any day or night transgress love?

Enter into the real rest that God chose from the foundation.
The finished work of Jesus is the "last day" because he conquered
time itself.

If you asked me for a ice cold Coke/Pepsi and I gave you a empty frozen bottle would your thirst get quenched?
Israel traded the product for a container with a nice logo.
They would have rather died from thirst than love.
Now we have a flowing river of the actual product.
Should we trade that for a snap shot of the river?
