‘May He equip you with all you need for doing His will.’ Hebrews 13:21 NLT
The letter P stands for personality. Before a company hires a leader, they often do a personality profile to identify their strengths and weaknesses. Are you compassionate or competitive towards people? Do you have a hard-driving type personality, or do you have a more nurturing temperament? The worst thing you can do is envy someone else’s personality type and wish you were just like them. God didn’t make a mistake when He made you. God will help you to change your conduct and strengthen your character, but you can pray until you’re blue in the face and He won’t change your personality. Instead, He will help you to recognise it and maximise it. Before God assigns you, He designs you. He gives you the right personality to fulfil His plan for your life.
‘But our bodies have many parts, and God has put each part just where He wants it. How strange a body would be if it had only one part! Yes, there are many parts, but only one body… In fact, some parts of the body that seem weakest and least important are actually the most necessary.’ (1 Corinthians 12:18–22 NLT)
So instead of putting yourself down or wishing you had a different temperament, remember what Psalm 139:13–14 NIV says; ‘For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.’
