You'll get through this storm
'It's me. Don't be afraid"' MARK 6 :50
What's the weather like where you are today? No, don't look out of the window; what are the conditions in your heart! Listen: 'Late at night, the boat was far out at sea; Jesus was still by Himself on land. He could see His men struggling with the oars, the wind having come up against them. At about four o'clock in the morning, Jesus came toward them, walking on the sea... When they saw Him walking on the sea, they thought it was a ghost and screamed, scared out of their wits. Jesus was quick to comfort them: '"Courage! It's me. Don't be afraid."' As soon as He climbed into the boat, the wind died down. They were stunned, shaking their heads, wondering what was going on (Mark 6:47-51 TM).
Often it's when our life is at its most stormy that God teaches us the biggest lessons. Dave Dravecky was a top sportsman whose baseball career was ended by cancer 20 years ago. He lost his career but thankfully he kept his life!
Here's what he has to say; 'Looking back I have learned that the wilderness is part of the landscape of faith, and every bit as essential as the mountaintop. On the mountaintop we are overwhelmed by God's presence. In the wilderness we are overwhelmed by His absence. Both places should bring us to our knees; the one, in utter awe; the other, in utter dependence.' Respect!
