When you feel anxious (1)
'Do not be anxious about anything...' Philippians 4:6
Don't you know there are a thousand things you should be worried about right now? Like...like...like you're not getting any younger you know. Oh no, it won't be long before you're in the big wide world and you don't even know what job you want to do. Because if you've not got a job you won't have any money, and money makes the world go round. And you can forget about friends or boyfriends and girlfriends cos who wants to hang out with someone who can never afford to do anything.
Talking of boyfs and all that...as if...I mean, come on, who's going to fall for you with that big nose and those crooked teeth, I mean I'm not saying those teeth are far apart but when you smile it looks like your tongue is behind bars! No, you're going to end up lonely, penniless, ugly and without any purpose in your life. Phew, glad we got that straight.
Does worrying about things really help the situation? I mean you could always take Paul's advice, 'Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds' (Philippians 4:6-7 NIV). But hey come on, its far more fun being anxious rather than peaceful isn't it? No? So, why do you do it then?
