What are you talking about? (1)
'he who invokes a blessing on himself...shall do so by saying, May the God of truth...bless me' ISAIAH 65:16
Words are powerful things. From 'God said' in creation, to God's Word being a sword in Ephesians 6:17. Words can change things big time. When Christiano Ronaldo was being pushed off the ball as a five year old, or when Leona Lewis was queuing up with thousands of hopefuls on X-Factor and told she'd have no chance, did they give up? No! Read Isaiah 65:15, and you'll see that:
a) you must rise above what others might say to you (in words or actions)
b) there is power in what you say to yourself. In a way, rising above what others say is the easier of those two points.
Follow Ronaldo and Leona's example, and filter those put downs from others. And then get tough on what about what you're saying to yourself; don't ever run yourself down. Instead read the Bible out loud to yourself and pray God's promises into your life. Go on; start now!
The more time you spend hanging out with God and reading His love-letter to you, the more it'll change how you see the people and situations around you, and even how you view yourself. Your mouth, your body and your brain are precious to God - so take care of them (check out 1 Corinthian 3:16 and Ephesians 4:29) and let God use them to take care of you.
