Turning stumbling blocks into stepping stones (1)
'we are more than conquerors' ROMANS 8:37
Do you think you have it bad? Life sucks, there's always something stopping you getting where you want to go? There's no way you'll ever succeed with all this stuff holding you back? Everyone else has it better than you; money or fame are all you need for success? Think again! Some of the most famous names we know had a tough time of it before they made it big.
Take Beethoven as an example. Now, you may not like his music, and think it's just for old fossils, but you've got to admit the man is pretty well known; most people know his name. You may think he must have had a sorted life to make it, but no! His dad was an alcoholic slave driver, who forced him to work to support the family. He spent so much time playing the piano and composing to make money, he had no childhood. But he didn't let that stop him. He used the bad stuff to make a better life for himself, and started thinking positively.
What had been stumbling blocks, he turned into stepping stones, which helped make him who he was at the end of his life.
So don't stumble on problems and grumble about them; instead, step on them, and use them to help you move forwards in life. It's not easy, but with God, you can conquer the biggest problems and make good from them.
