Those who can: Teach
'we who teach will be judged more strictly' JAMES 3:1
You know those adverts on telly, where good clean wholesome pupils (not like the asbo tearaways you've grown accustomed to at your school) swoon at the feet of a drop-dead gorgeous teacher (as opposed to old Mr Cod-face who bores his way through your double geography lessons), hanging onto his every word as the on-screen caption spells out, 'those who can; teach'.
Well, have you ever stopped to think about that? Could you teach? Not as in school teacher, but could you teach your peers, your family, or your friends the way of Jesus? There's an old saying 'sometimes you're the only Bible some people will ever read'. What does that mean? Simple. For a lot of people, the closest they'll ever get to understanding anything the Bible goes on about is by what they observe in your life. If you're the only Christian they know, then you're their definition of what a Christian does. You may even be their only definition of what Jesus is like.
So, what lessons will people learn from your life? Will they see that a Christian is somebody who spouts on about love but then backstabs? Will they learn that it's OK for Christians to play the field? Will they see any difference in how you live your life, and how they live theirs? Can you live as an example of Christ? Those who can; teach.
