The ultimate source of wisdom
'the wisdom that is from above is' JAMES 3:17
A young executive told his secretary he'd an important meeting and didn't want to be interrupted. A few minutes later his boss came to his office needing to see him urgently, so without knocking he just swung the executive's door open and walked in. There in front of his desk, kneeling on the floor was the young executive, praying. Totally shocked he stepped right back out again and asked the secretary, 'Is this usual?' 'Yes,' she replied, 'he does it every morning.' 'No wonder I come to him for advice!' said his boss.
Everyone needs wisdom; from the businesswoman high up in the glass-fronted office block to the single dad wondering how he can hold down his job and look after his kids. You see God's wisdom isn't just a bunch of airy-fairy ideas that bear no relevance to life; God's wisdom is all about how to live life, the way He designed it to be lived!
So how do you get wisdom? You ask God to give it to you: 'For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding' (Proverbs 2:6 NKJV). 'If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally...and it will be given to him' (James 1:5 NKJV). So what's going on in your life today? What choices are laid out before you? Ask God for wisdom to take the right path.
