The right place; the right people
'...for...a time like this.' Esther 4:14
Did you know the Bible has a beauty queen in it? Not only that, but Esther also married a king, uncovered a plot to kill all the Jewish people, and saved them. Quite a life! Her story shows us how important it is to be in the right place, and let the right people influence you. Remember these two things:
1) Where you are today is no accident. If you think of your life as a swimming race, there's no time for you to just tread water - you should always be going forwards. Don't think that there's gonna be a better time, or more important opportunity - you don't choose your time, God does. He's got you where you are for a reason, so that when He calls you to do something, you're either in the right place to do it already, or on your way there.
2) God sends special people to guide us. Mordecai was Esther's mentor, her accountability guy. Without him, she may not have ever realised what her calling was. He helped her actually get stuck in and do what God wanted. Who is your Mordecai? Who helps you understand where you are, knows you well enough to give you a gentle kick up the bum if you go off on one? Who will encourage you when you feel ready to quit? None of us are perfect - that's why God sends friends, we really need them!
