Have you seen that programme 'How Clean Is Your House'? If you have you may have found yourself screaming at the TV, 'Uggh!! How can they live like that?' as you look in horror at the amount of dirt and rubbish that's inside. Thankfully by the end of the programme you're feeling relieved, as the house is how it should be; nice and clean! But it only got clean because those brave souls asked for help. They decided that it was better to deal with the humiliation of having their dirty houses shown on TV than for them to live that way any way longer. And even though they are named and shamed in front of thousands watching, by the end of the programme they are looking happy, relieved. Their houses look completely different and their lives have changed for the better.
When we do things wrong and go against God, it's like we are messing our lives up as much as those people messed up their houses. If we don't ask for help it stays there. Our lives get messier and messier, dirtier and smellier. Carrying this around all day can make us feel, ashamed, guilty, angry, unloved, useless, hopeless, all negative feelings. That's why God says, 'Talk to Me, tell Me all about it; ask for My help, My love, My forgiveness. Just ask and it's yours'. Hide nothing, tell God everything and keep clean!
