'grow in grace' 2 PETER 3:18
We're sticking with this verse for one more day because there's one more thing we need to know about Growing in God's grace. We have already learned that
a) we need it, and
b) it's free and our choice to accept it. But when we've got it, there's something that God wants us to do with it, He wants us to give it away! That's right; give it away!
There is something very unique about God's grace: it never runs out and it grows when you give it away. When we allow God's grace in our lives we receive God's unconditional love, forgiveness, power, faithfulness. And he says, '...Freely you have received, freely give' (Matthew 10:8).
If we got it from Him for free, he wants us to give it away for free. Now ,this is where it gets tricky. It's easy to accept something you don't deserve for free, but harder to give something away to people whom you think don't deserve it. The means the next time someone does you wrong, God wants you to be gracious and forgive them, not go round and punch their lights out, or moan at them for months on end.
In short, however God treats you, He wants you to treat others. Impossible? No! God wouldn't ask you to do something you couldn't handle. He'll help you. Grow in grace! You'll be surprised how much you enjoy it. ?
