Save yourself the embarrassment!
'...you will forget the shame of your youth...' Isaiah 54:4
Parents have 1001 ways of embarrassing their teenagers. It just comes naturally to them! The worst of them all is reserved for that special occasion when you bring your boyfriend or girlfriend round for the first time. It's all going really nicely and then it happens: 'Ooh, I bet you'd like to see some old pictures of...' ...and you can insert your name at the end of that sentence.
The family photo album comes out and you wish the ground would swallow you up. The scary thing is, you've now entered a stage of life when for lots and lots of people, really big mistakes are made, really bad choices leading to all sorts of mess. Are you going to be a casualty or will you get through to adulthood with mind, body and spirit in good shape?
Imagine 10 years from now looking back at a video of your teenage years - will it be embarrassing or will you be happy to let it be seen? Is today's Bible verse going to be something you need to reach for in the future or will you make sure that it doesn't apply to you? One thing's for sure, if you commit each day to God then the chances of you stuffing up are seriously reduced. So what are you waiting for; ask Him to show you which direction to go in today.
