Prepared, planted, placed, pruned, prospered (4)
'God planted a garden...there He put the man whom He had formed.' GENESIS 2:8
Some restaurants and hotels buy plastic plants; you know, a few flowers on a table or a tree in a lobby , and they never need watering or pruning! Yes, plastic plants are hassle free but they're fake; they have no life!
God doesn't want your relationship with Him to just LOOK like the real thing, He's not into plastic Christianity, but if you don't want a fake life with God it will take a bit of work. The Bible says: 'God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it' (Genesis 2:15 NIV).
Today God may be saying to you, 'I've prepared you, placed you where you need to be, planted blessings in your life that are scheduled to come up at different times, but now you've got to work it.' God may have placed you in a church or group of people; that doesn't mean they won't wind you up. God might have planted opportunities in your life; that doesn't mean making the most of them isn't hard work.
No one likes being formed and prepared, especially if that means we have to change! It takes time, but it's worth it. In our comfort obsessed culture we can forget that what is easiest isn't always best. Don't expect God to do things He's expecting you to do- Get to work!
