'all you who... walk in the light of your fires... will lie down in torment' Isaiah 50:11
When the darkness around you is part of God's plan don't try to create your own light: 'You who live in your own light...will soon fall down in great torment.' Abraham tried that when he sensed the light of God's promise of son going dim over time. Tired of waiting, he decided to go get it on with his maid instead of his wife - errr - big mistake Abe! And what about Peter who promised to follow Jesus to prison and to death (Luke 22:33)?
When darkness fell he didn't wait for instructions and ended up chopping off an innocent man's ear! Let's get one really important point clear: when you're in darkness by divine design you don't have to be scared, God will bring you through, night always gives way to morning! The Bible gives us great promises: '...weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning' (Psalm 30:5 NIV). The forty dark days Moses spent alone on the mountain, the same time spent by Jesus in the wilderness being tempted, they were essential to God's plans. Jesus said, 'What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight...' (Matthew 10:27 NIV). So remember,
1) It may be in a really dark moment that God gives you an amazing revelation.
2) People will listen to you because you've 'earned the right to speak' - you've been there. So you never need to be scared of the dark!
