Makeover time
'... the Lord looks at the heart' 1 Samuel 16:7
Tweezers plucking, creams being rubbed in, scissors snipping, hair dying, clothes shopping - probably the things you think of when you hear the word 'makeover'. If you're a lad you may be running for cover already! But that's not what we're talking about today.
Every human being is actually two people in one: the outer person (the body, reputation, and personality), and the inner person (the character, spirit and soul). The outer you is visible to everyone, and although you may get a huge zit that not even the toughest of concealers will cover, you can still pretty much 'makeover' the outer you so it looks good to everyone else around you.
The inner you is invisible though, to everyone if you want it to be; oh, apart from God that is! We may be able to hide what we're really feeling and thinking, how we're really doing from those around us, but we can't hide it from God. And here's the thing: the inner you won't ever cease to exist. So even though as you get older, your skin will get wrinkly, your hair will go grey, your bones will get brittle and you'll lose brain cells every day after you hit 30, your spirit will still be going strong. So make sure you exercise it, work it out and keep your insides trim. That's the bit God sees, and the bit He's really bothered about.
