Luke warm or boiling over?

'Don't sin by letting anger control you' EPHESIANS 4:26

Anger! It affects everyone! Once, a guy stalled his car at a junction, bringing on loads of honking horns from other drivers. He got out, went to the car behind and calmly said 'Sorry mate, I can't get it started. Feel free to give it a go, and I'll sit here and honk your horn - anyone can do that'. Nice one! You need to know how to handle anger properly, or one of two things will happen:

1) You stay angry. You're permanently boiling over, and that's not healthy. Be realistic; not every problem will be resolved the way you want it to be. Sometimes, you just have to give it to God and move on.

2) You don't get angry, even when it's appropriate. You're always luke-warm, you show no emotion, and people start to wonder if you're actually human! If you lack the courage to confront someone, you're more likely to explode at home, and that's not good for anyone. Jesus said 'If your fellow believer sins against you, go and tell him in private what he did wrong...' (Matthew18:15 NCV).

Sometimes we're supposed to get angry; but in the right way. Be angry with the problem, not the person. So, say what you have to say, but in kindness, and not in front of others. That's called speaking the truth in love, and it's not boiling over, but not luke-warm.
