Love letters (3)
'...You have left the love you had in the beginning.' Revelation 2:4
Your computer crashes so you ring the helpline to try to get it sorted out. Your mobile dies so take it to the shop, hoping they'll swap it for a new one. But how can you fix a relationship that's gone horribly wrong?
What if, just like the Church in Ephesus, you've stopped loving Jesus!
How do you fix that? Can you fix it? Should you fix it? YES! All you need to do is remember:
Remember the best times you had with Jesus: Jesus said, '"...I came to give life - life in all its fullness"' (John 10:10 NCV).
Remember what Jesus has done: 'In Christ we are set free...we have forgiveness of sins' (Ephesians 1:7 NCV). Remember what you did then, that you don't do now: '...give yourselves completely to God.
Stand against the devil and he will run from you' (James 4:7 NCV). Remember what you would be missing out on: 'When people's steps follow the Lord, God is pleased with their ways. If they stumble, they will not fall, because the Lord holds their hand' (Psalm 37:23-24 NCV).
Remember, whatever is troubling you Jesus can help: 'Jesus said, "Don't let your heart be troubled...trust in me' (John 14:1 NCV).
Remember that Jesus has never stopped loving you: 'Nothing...in the whole world will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Jesus...' (Romans 8:39 NCV). 'Come near to God and he will come to you...' (James 4:8 NCV).
