Keep your eyes on Jesus!
'CONSIDER HIM WHO ENDURED SUCH OPPOSITION...SO THAT YOU WILL NOT...LOSE HEART.' HEBREWS 12:3
Are you feeling misunderstood? You're not alone! The most misunderstood person who ever lived was Jesus. Critics joked about His birth, disputed His divinity, scorned His purposes, despised His teachings, were suspicious of His motives, critical of His methods and angered by His message.
Ultimately they put Him to death on a cross! That explains what the Apostle John meant when he wrote, 'The Light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it...He was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him' (John 1:5-10 NIV). Wherever He went, Jesus met with misunderstanding and rejection. Yet in spite of it, He hung in there. And by His grace you can too! Listen: 'So we must get rid of everything that slows us down...And we must be determined to run the race that is ahead of us...So keep your mind on Jesus, who put up with all sorts of idiotic insults. Then you won't get discouraged and give up. (Heb 12:1-3 CEV).
So, as you run your race today:
a) recognise the things that slow you down
b) recognise the things that trip you up
c) recognise that obstacles and opposition are 'par for the course', and don't give up!
How do you do this? By keeping your eyes on Jesus and drawing strength from Him each day.
