Keep Growing.
'until Christ is formed in you' GALATIANS 4:19
Think for a minute about all the things you've learned since you were born. You can walk, run, and talk! And that's just for starters!! They say you learn the most in the first five years of your life than at any other time. And you can see why! You're taking in massive amounts of information, growing and developing new skills. Wow, you're amazing! But we don't often think about that really do we, because it just seems to happen naturally. We expect it!
When you become a Christian, it's the start of a whole new life; it's time to learn and grow all over again. In fact we're actually, '...being transformed into his likeness...' (2 Corinthians 3:18 NIV). We're becoming Christlike. It's not instant, it happens over time. And just like growing up naturally the way to do it is through food and exercise; eating God's Word, the Bible, and doing the things He says. First we have milk: 'Like new born babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation' (1 Peter 2:2), then solids: '...solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil' (Hebrews 5:14).
If we're not careful though, we can stay like babies and never grow up. 'I gave you milk not solid food for you were not yet ready for it...' (1 Corinthians 3:2). Don't get left behind... keep growing!
