Just say No!
'...put all evil things out of your life...' Colossians 3:5
Ever watched the comedy show Little Britain? Then you may have heard the words, 'Computer says no!' Whatever the request might be the answer always comes back, 'Computer says no!'
Well we need to take that catchphrase and apply it to our lives. The only way we are going to, 'Put all evil things out of our lives' is by saying, 'Jesus says no!' and making good choices that let nothing evil into your life. And if anything is in there already or sneaks in through a window, 'put these things out of your life' (v8). The best way to keep bad things out of your life is by filling your life up with good things, here are four good things the Bible teaches us to do to start us off:
1) stop craving things you don't need. Instead enjoying what you've got
2) if you're not giving generously to God's work start now! Make a habit of giving away a percentage of whatever comes your way. 'It is possible to give away and become richer...[and] to hold on too tightly and lose everything' (Proverbs 11:24-25 TLB). Yes even give a bit of your pocket money - even 50p of that fiver from your Nan!
3) trust God completely, with everything. God guarantees to 'supply all your need' (Philippians 4:19 NLT). Go ahead, do it! Obey God, be patient, and watch what happens.
