It's kickin' off in 'ere!
'...fight hard for the faith...' Jude 3:3
Is God really telling us to fight? And not just fight, but fight hard? Well before you go punching someone's lights out, listen up! God isn't telling you to 'kick off' every time someone disagrees with what you believe. Nor is He telling you to 'beat the living daylights' out of any of your mates who try and talk you out of going to Church! And He's definitely not asking you to have a slangin' match with the next person who calls you a 'Bible Basher!'
If someone is overweight; then they might be encouraged to 'fight the flab'. Which doesn't mean they are being asked to beat themselves up, literally, does it? What they're saying is use all your inner strength and willpower, to keep those pounds from piling on. Eat all the right foods and take the right exercise to make this possible.
In a similar way, when God tells us to, 'Fight hard for the faith' He is asking us to do everything we can to keep our focus and attention on Jesus. Don't compromise what the Bible tells you. Believe it and live by it!
Fighting involves: Training; Don't get discouraged and give up. Readiness - There's no time off being a Christian! Action; Fight to win! 'I do not mean that I am already as God wants me to be... but I continue trying to reach it and make it mine...' (Philippians 3:12 NCV).
