If you want to succeed - prepare well!
'Any enterprise ... built by wise planning, becomes strong.' PROVERBS 24:3
Isn't the summer great? Temperatures in the twenties (sometimes!), long lazy evenings before the sun goes down, and exams are just a distant memory! But in a few weeks time it'll be back to the old routine, time to get those textbooks out again, to start preparing again for all those subjects you love so much ;-)
Asked how long it would take to bring his ship to a stop, the Queen Mary's captain replied, 'A little over a mile.' Then he added, 'A good captain thinks at least a mile ahead.' So what will you be doing a month from now, the 11th September. Do you need to start preparing for it? And what will you be doing 6 months from now, 11th February 2010! It will be here before you know it.
Your success in any venture is determined by how important it is to you, and your willingness to prepare for it. The Living Bible phrases Proverbs 24:3 this way: 'Any enterprise is built by wise planning, becomes strong through common sense, and profits wonderfully by keeping abreast of the facts.' So, if you want to succeed, singing 'If you wish upon a star' won't help you. The dividing line between winning and losing is preparation!
To make your dreams come true you've got to prepare yourself. Ever wondered what Jesus was doing during those pre-dawn risings and nights of prayer? Preparing! Sorry, but there's no other way.
