Happy Days?
'...when you have many troubles, you should be full of joy.' James 1:2
You stand in front of the mirror scrutinizing every inch of your face. Agonizing that your nose is too big and you're getting another spot; right on the end of it. That boiled egg you made isn't runny, your toast's gone soggy and the milk's run out!
A trip to the toilet sees you dropping your phone down the basin. Leaving you with the dilemma; flush then retrieve or retrieve then flush? You try disinfecting your hand with toothpaste; it was the first thing you found, after your 'retrieve then flush' decision; already you're regretting it as your pet dog decides it loves toothpaste and is slobbering all over you! Its only 8am and already you're thinking (delete as appropriate):
a) could this day get any worse?
b) AAaaaagggggggggggghhhh!
c) I'm gonna kick that dog!
d) all these troubles are making me full of joy!
So you're thinking a, b, c or d? How many of us naturally think d? But that's what God wants us to do; '...when you have many troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience. Let your patience show itself perfectly in what you do. Then you will be perfect and complete and have everything that you need' (James 1:2).
When God puts it like that, you can see what He's saying; can't you?
