'The glory of Lebanon shall be given to it' ISAIAH 35:2
Fourthly, tall cedars. Their strength wasn't in their height, but in their roots; they could bend almost to the ground without breaking, and come back stronger. God uses 'tall cedars' to build great churches. Don't think that just deciding to be a Christian is enough; that's only 5% of it really, like the bit of the tree you see above the ground. The other 95% is all about growing your spiritual roots. Without roots, the tall cedars would have been useless, and would have toppled in the slightest storm.
You must strive to be mature and fully grown, becoming more and more like Jesus. How? '...though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God's Word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil. Therefore let us leave the elementary teachings about Christ and go on to maturity' (Hebrews 5:12-6:1 NIV).
You need to constantly train yourself in the word of God. So; study your Bible, listen to good teaching on it, but more than that, think about it yourself; about what it means to you; what God's saying to you through it; and little by little, your roots will grow.
