God is chief (2)
'THEREFORE...IN VIEW OF GOD'S MERCY.' ROMANS 12:1
If God is Chief of everything, what's our part in all of this? Romans 12 gives us some good ideas. Here's just a smidgeon of what it has to say:
a) don't just pay lip service saying thanks to God, let your life say thanks; your working, walking, talking life
b) don't let all the junk around you drag you down to its level. If God is Chief, let him bring out the best in you. The world's packed with immature attitudes, grow up in maturity with God
c) if God is the boss, you're part of the team. No straying from the team talk, no sleeping on the touch line, no back-chat to your team-mates, focus on playing your own part to the best of your ability.
In fact, there's even more wisdom, it tells us to:
a) love, really love, none of this plastic, fake, sentimental gush
b) run from evil, cling to good
c) not to quit because of hard times
d) make friends with the nobodies and stop trying to be the great somebody
e) discover beauty in everyone
f) outsmart your enemy by doing good for them rather than trying to outdo them in the badness stakes.
There, that's the trailer for it, now go see the movie, run a bath, put a do-not-disturb sign up; pamper yourself with a Word from the wise.
